November 4, 20214 yr Popular Post By Tanakorn Sangiam BANGKOK (NNT) - More than 65,000 people have submitted their application for Thailand Pass in just 4 days since the country’s reopening. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it had already approved this electronic entry document to almost 13,000 people ahead of their visits. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Director General of the Department of Information and Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), said the MFA received 65,338 Thailand Pass applications from 1 November until 8 a.m. of 4 November, with 12,607 applications approved within the same period. The spokesman said the ministry has acknowledged some issues with the system, mostly due to external interferences. He said the MFA is now working with the Digital Government Development Agency to constantly improve the system, with the latest feature being the official support on mobile devices. Thailand Pass is a new web-based system for eligible visitors to apply for their entry documents prior to travel. Visitors and returning Thai nationals can now apply for Thailand Pass by visiting http://tp.consular.go.th/. They can fill in personal information and upload their health documents there. Mr. Tanee said the MFA is working to provide detailed information on the current entry protocols, as well as answers to frequently asked questions. This information is available on the MFA’s website. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-11-05 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
November 4, 20214 yr Popular Post As day 4 comes to an end, still no word. What is the experience of others? How long is a response taking for you? I applied Nov. 1 and my flight is Nov. 12.
November 4, 20214 yr Popular Post So, what they are basically saying is the situation is getting worse - now 52,000 tourist still not got their approvals, up from 40 odd thousand yesterday. 52,000 unprocessed application in FOUR days another 5 days and they will have a backlog of about 100,000 requests (though probably only 10k constantly applying with no success). They are causing absolute chaos with people plans and needlessly worrying thousands of holidaymakers. It's going to collapse at some point, maybe not next week, or the week after but soon. When they say they should get 10 million tourists next year, I think it fair to say - on approving only say 4k a day - 9 million will not get their passes ! This will be abandoned (HOPEFULLY) as the reality of this government stupidness hits home in the months ahead

Said it was received and will respond in 7 days.

How can people plan when after 7 days you could be told it's wrong I agree, this is looking like a total shambles. There are a few on here only making it worse by telling people to try and try again until you get it right. One guy said he had made 15 application attempts, and tx from my daughter waiting to see me. I am hoping that AI will just delete any previously made applications with the same passport number. I would like to think that they thought that far ahead but then again, we are talking about people who possibly had some sort of hand in the online 90day reporting debacle.
November 4, 20214 yr Popular Post If this keeps up word will get around the internet and genuine tourists will stop trying, which might be good for me when I have to attempt it in 3 or 4 weeks. And what's that bit about "external interferences"? Is this something like those authoritarian countries that say all their problems are caused by outside agitators and foreign troublemaking?

I would apply now but please read all the posts available and get your application right. I have heard people using hotmail accounts are not getting email confirmations so just in case use a gmail account as that seems to at least give you an email confirmation.
November 4, 20214 yr Popular Post Thailand and applicants don't go together... 90 days reporting, Mor Prom, Expatvac and previous versions, and so on.....The hub of failures
November 4, 20214 yr Popular Post Re: Bonecollector. You've raised the great question of how long before my Dec. 7 flight I should have everything (hotel. insurance etc.) together and make the application. I've assumed a week to 10 days, but as a practical matter could one really start 3 or 4 weeks ahead? Also, I've been thinking if the situation seems too onerous I might put the flyer points on hold and wait till next year, tho in that case I would have to start over on a Non-O, or whatever strategy seems best. And I assume a lot of the hotels and insurance are non-refundable. And rules might change on Dec. 1. Comments appreciated.

Be much more upfront profitable to abandon the whole approach. Face saving measures.
November 4, 20214 yr Popular Post I think word has already circled the globe to just avoid Thailand altogether. Not sure what the big rush is to go there now everyone booking flights within hours of failure I just don,t get the logic. Thailand Pass I knew would be a failure and would only scare of millions of possible foreigners. With the stupid mandatory Covid insurance yada yada yada it is just another huge clusterfrack . Thailand Pass is meant for only the most desperate of souls.

Lol, they refuse to even accept the numbers, calling it fake news or whatever, so you know they hate those numbers. They really do literally mean NOBODY. As in a tiny trickle. 65,000 is far more than a trickle and makes it very hard for them to try move the goalposts like they always try do. They will just move on to whining about something else like they always do. Never admitting they are wrong, and they are almost ALWAYS wrong.
November 5, 20214 yr Popular Post "outiside interference". 5555 As we know, problems are never due to Thai incompetence. That's why I love the Thai government. It is perfect.

November 5, 20214 yr It's too bad they don't have a provision in the approval process to deal with people who have flights coming up within the next week. Logic would say approve the people flying soon first but TIT.
