PHUKET: While officials are boasting the high number of successful registrations through the Thailand Pass website in order to enter the country, many people are still finding themselves confounded by the lack of information being made available to successfully register for their Thailand Pass permit.

The Thai Department of Consular Affairs was inundated with complaints on Monday by Thais and foreigners unable to register through the web portal,  https://tp.consular.go.th/. The main complaint was the registrants receiving an “API Error”, and not even receiving recognition that their registration had been accepted.

Anucha Nakasai, the Minister attached to the Office of the Prime Minister, on Tuesday announced that “some issues” with people registering through the Thailand Pass website, in order to be issued a permit to enter Thailand as a tourist, had been noticed.

Phuket expat on linked article on bragging mode:

“All up, I have spent almost 15 hours researching and inputting on my laptop. I have made 3 calls and 5 emails to Thai Elite - they can’t help. Apart from having a Thai Elite visa, I also have an APEC card,” he added.

Vomitably cringeworthy.

Interesting though that Thai Elite “can’t help”. And 15 Hours Work for T. Pass ? Credible. Took me 40 hours work over two weeks six years ago to prepare / submit for Embassy Retirement Visa……..

Would expect fast track T/ Pass to be part of the TE service though ? Take it that TP only for tourists & non- immigrants ? Not for PR or Citizens……..and T. Pass clearly already a major fiasco about to Fail.

No Way China for example will not somehow be Exempt. Imagine 400k applications instead of 40k.

Wonder if this guy is Thai? Admitting that something they have created is not good is very rare to hear.

The Thai Elite Visa program has always been considered as an obvious scam, paying XXX hundreds of thousands of bahts just to get a gold colored (useless) flashy card. I'm sorry for those who got suckered in but that's all the Thai Elite Visa scheme was about and that's all it'll ever be.

Think of it for a second, if the roles were switched and the tables were turned around, do you really think the Thais (stingy as they are) would fall for a, say "British Elite Visa" scheme? or a "French Elite Visa" program? or a "Belgian Elite Visa" path?

There goes the saying: "In Rome, do as the Romans", In Thailand, do as the Thais. The only way to survive in this Kingdom is to be as stingy as they can be.

The Thais would never fall for that, why would YOU?

If you want to do anything the first day, expect some growing pains while the bugs get wrinkled out. It is the nature of all launches.

Lol, it seems to be working out pretty well for me.

I think TP Is for everybody to enter Thailand.

The case has nothing to do with the Elite visa: the visa is not part of the documents required to apply for the Thailand Pass (whereas it was for the CEO; I think I remember).
If you read the original report, the person concerned is quite detailed and what he is really complaining about is for not having received technical/administrative help from the company which manages the Privilege Entry visa.
And after all, if this company offers assistance for the 90 days and the renewal of the visa every five years, is it nowhere stipulated in the contract that it will also fill in other types of applications for the Elite contract holder. This is regrettable, but cannot be used as a complain.
It seems that this gentleman was only in the same situation as many others who for the latest days simply could not access the official Thailand Pass website. Elite or not, that is not the problem.

That's right. It is regrettable, unfortunate, uncalled for, whatever you want to call it but:

My point stays and remains unchanged; this is the mindset of 99.99% of the Thais.

This is akin to walking into Tukcom Pattaya buying a cheap phone or cheap accessories and expect any kind of warranty whatsoever.

As soon as you've parted with your money, the very minute you walk away from the booth, you now are of ZERO interest whatsoever to the Thais in general.

Now bringing this analogy into the Elite Visa scheme, it is exactly the same mindset kicking in; you've already paid them everything you owed them, you parted with your money willingfully, money exchanged hands and in return you got your (useless) gold flashy Elite Visa card.

As you now are worthless to them, you can sod off into the sunset.

Thai mindset 101; Money first, talk later (maybe).

Because there's no incentive for them to do so?

Let’s be honest, don’t you think this is normal. They can’t even fix the 90 days report APP, how long? Once upon a time, people can report 90days through the app.

Pays up to 400% markup for lux goods. Gets called "stingy."

in Thailand nothing can be done online except shopping. For all the rest you need lots of copies and papers to do anything, extension visa, driverslicense, 90days reports and other immigration issues, workpermits, not only for foreigners but for Thais too... Thailamd still far away from the digital era

Why is it so hard for Thais to make websites.

One of the most important websites of the last 2 years.

Their economy banking on it.

They still screw it up.

I found the two main issues when applying for the Thai Pass.

One, convert your doc, s to jpeg. Do not send pdf.

Two, Do not use Hotmail. Use g mail.

Once I did that. Got the pass in two hours.

Hope this helps..

Git the pass or received the email confirmation that your application had been submitted ?

it took me 10 hrs on Monday to finally be able to submit the application. The email stated I would receive an email within 7 days.

Web design is not terribly complicated. A talented designer could create this site, and beta test it, without alot of difficulty. There is no excuse for this failure.

As usual, they were likely trying to save some money on the site, just as they attempted with the disastrous vaccination program.

Cheap Charlie complex comes back and bites them yet again?

My daughter from my 3rd wife applied this afternoon and got the pass an hour ago. The email went to her Junk inbox apparently.

No surprise that most of TV can't work a bloody laptop though, I've seen their Thai language proficiency.

Thailands registration sites/apps seem to always backfire.

Why doesn't Thailands aviation administration just instruct all incoming airlines to check for a double vaccine, and a PCR test and insurance at the departing countries check-in desk.

Nothing else is needed.
