Nasty indeed, here's a tip - when coming to a full stop, always make use of your rear view mirror to ensure whoever is coming up at your '6' intends to stop as well. Tips are needed here.........

The one who minds his own business and could not care less about what happened was the motorcycle driver on the other side of the road...

My wife drives for living. I just showed her this video and she blames the car for not having emergency flashers on or pulling on the side of the road ????

Always have......pump the brake pedal when coming to a stop ....hazard lights to the ready, if worried.....leave a gap and in gear ready to swerve out of the way.

Too many morons on their phones and not paying attention.

And I'd say she is correct.  The car driver put themselves in a position that was inviting disaster.

The safest way to drive in Thailand is to assume everybody woke up that morning with the sole objective of killing you, as another poster has said, but also to assume that everybody else on the road has the mentality of a severely retarded chimpanzee and the driving skills of a blind three-legged wombat.  You won't be disappointed.

The car driver was not at fault.

The speeding truck not paying attention to the road caused the accident. four way flashers on would have made no difference as the truck driver was out to lunch.

Also looks like the first truck was stopped at a junction,

( white line across road at front of truck )

"Fault" is irrelevant in Thailand.  "Death" is more relevant and best avoided.

Does your wife always pull over and put emergency flashers when she is waiting at a red light?

That was my immediate thought on readying that post. I had to go back to the clip to verify that the cement truck was indeed stopped at a light as I originally thought.

When your wife is driving do you ever ride as  her passenger?

I taught my (first) wife, and  our three kids to drive.  I always stressed to each of them, just remember, every other driver out there is a lunatic, just out to kill you.        Many years later, none of them have ever had an accident.(or caused one to my knowledge)

When I learned to drive back in the UK many years ago, my driving instructor told me never to forget one thing

" Just assume everybody around you is a complete Idiot "

Sounds like you had the same instructor.

Not seen an accident for a couple of weeks. Went out at 9,30 am on Thursday and saw 2 within 500 yards, one very serious with a bike rider trapped under a lorry. This was on a wide road with no u turns, side roads to speak of or traffic lights. I refuse to drive here!

Takes skill, experience, and excellent situational awareness.

Oh - and Cojones (as does riding anywhere)

If you are lacking in any of the above, ...

That accident was from China about a year ago, the car's driver and passenger weren't seriously injured.
