Red Bull Boss: Case against those accused in cover up to take 14 months - will conclude end of next year

The case against those accused of the alleged cover up in the matter of Red Bull heir Vorayuth Yoovidhya drags on.

Supha Piyajitti of the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission told the Thai media the investigation would take 14 months to complete.

They will announce their conclusions towards the end of next year.

Fourteen people stand accused including many senior police officers.

Boss - as he is known - drove his Ferrari into a police sergeant in September 2012 in the Thong Lo area of Bangkok dragging him for several hundred meters and killing him.

The case has been mired in controversy with almost weekly report.

The latest was that Boss was in Austria.

He is on a red notice from Interpol but seems out of reach of the Thai police.

Either that or there is no appetite to catch him and reveal further cans of worms in the case.

Apparently he is NOT. The Thai Police CLAIM he is. I have tried all possible spellings of his name -- no result. Unless he's listed as "Boss", there is NO red notice out for him. He's "

Looks like another basket full of brown envelops has just arrived!

14 Months = That'll keep some retired judges gamefully employed for a while.

What's the statute of limitations on a cover up?

  • Popular Post

Apparently all the seniors haven't retired as yet!

It was expected I suppose. Just more Red Bull S#!t.

It's like a game of Hide and Seek (the money.)  If you're rich & connected, Justice takes years to kick in - Premchai took over four years to stonewall his sentence despite being caught red-handed (literally!)  Most of the beneficiaries of the Red Bull largesse will be dead before the law catches up with them.

He's "out of reach of the Thai police" alright, but for entirely different reasons than stated here.

Thailand: the hub of stalled legal cases? Has SRT paid one satang of the money it was ordered to pay Hopewell for the cancelled elevated highway and rail project, which began construction in 1997, a mere 24 years ago? What about the partial demolition order of The Aetas on Ruam Rudi, filed in 2008 and adjudicated in 2014? These are just two off the top of my head, but I imagine it's the Fool of Law hard at work.

I'm glad it will conclude next year.

Three years from now the case for the coverup of the coverup can begin.

Whew! I was worried justice wasn't being served.

I do not know how the government especially the RTP can look anyone in the eye over this charade. totally embarrassing for any civilized country.

And therein lies the question, how civilised a country is it when wealthy people can mow down and kill policemen and the establishment allows them to get away with it ?

I don't think I have ever seen a case in South East Asia for nearly 20 years, against people in positions of power, when one of them has actually stood up and said "yes, you are right, it was me and I take responsibility". It is always the very opposite.

Yeah 14 months she gave all the guilty people time to leave the country with a <deleted> load of money TIT

I did a search on the Interpol site, left names blank and looked for males wanted by Thailand. Only came up with one name 'Tran Van Bac', maybe its a alias.

14 months to conclude negotiations with whoever agrees to be the fall guy.

Read the Interpol website! It only displays 160 Red Notices out of around 7,500 issued.  Just because the publicly accessible database doesn't show it doesn't mean that it is not there.   No police forces get their Interpol information from a public website!

It only displays 160 per search result. If there is a red notice issued it will be there but there is nothing with his name there

Interpol have also commented previously that not all Notices are shown on the public website.   They don't need to be as no police forces get their data from a public website!

I was correcting your error thats all.

EDIT: Just saw this......................

"There are currently approximately 66,370 valid Red Notices, of which some 7,669 are public."

How close is 14 months from now to the case automatically collapsing because of the statute of limitations?

The Hopewell was not all SRT fault there were plenty if meddelsome politicians involved in that to, as well of course massive corruption from the outset.

I am sure Hopewell company must have done very well to get the contract in the 1st place with no feasibilty study. No doubt they were all to ready to grease the wheels with big dollars in their eyes.

He who dances with the devil should bring a long spoon.

My sympathy is with the tax payers who just day after day are fleeced by these corrupt politicians and civil servants, before a project, when the project is ongoing and then for decades after in lossess through incomptence or legal fees when it all goes tits up. Until there is some penalty for incompetence/criminaltiy/negligemce in the civil service then they will continue to rape the country dry.

How would that help the RTP?

Useless kid never worked a day in his life can literally run over normal people with fancy cars and not suffer any consequences because his family is really really rich.  Money drives everything here.  Everything.
