Bert got kinky
On a serious note, why is she blaming Thailand? By that I mean, why does she realise that Thailand is the same as everywhere else? If you test positive in any country in the world (that I'm aware of), you have to quarantine. She would have been in the same situation in most foreign countries. As for no one being able to speak English, don't make me laugh. You even state on your video about the conversations that you had with the hotel staff and maybe more but I couldn't be bothered to watch the full video. How did you speak to these people and get understandable answers if they could speak no English? Have you been learning Thai (very quickly) during quarantine?

Well, that's precisely what she should have done before committing to such a journey. One of the major differences between us and other life on this planet is the ability to visualize future possibilities and plan accordingly, especially with regards to potential harm. Apparently some humans have not been gifted with this genetic advantage. I wonder if she also takes selfies on the edge of a cliff.
Popular Post Dialemco
It's all very sad. The best advice is not to travel to Thailand until Covid is under control and the entry requirements are very clear and unambiguous. It appears that the Government makes the rules for entry into Thailand but that provincial Governors have the authority to make other rules. 1

Popular Post herfiehandbag
She may be foolish. She may have an unusual occupation making "TikTok" videos (I don't understand them either), she may be surprised that no-one has been able to speak English... But, I think something is amiss here, just not with this case but with others which are being reported. Whatever spin is being applied to the reporting, whatever reactions are being aroused amongst the more conservative, worldly wise, unsympathetic and travel experienced contributors here, certain facts and many suspicions remain. Thailand's tourist agencies and government have made great play of re-opening. They have set up systems involving testing, vaccination and insurance requirements, before departing for Thailandand all these are being overturned for some on arrival. There seems little transparency over the reasons to detain so arbitrarily, and in particular over the testing and retesting processes, and the apparent gap between the required insurance and paying for the quarantine. Unless this situation is gripped, and quickly, it will do immense damage to the attempts to repair the tourist industry. The adverse publicity is now all over the Israeli, Scandinavian and now British tourist markets, three of the biggest. It looks very much as if the rules and procedures are being manipulated to make money. Thailand Trusted Destination? Popular Post newnative
Why is this even a story? That's the procedure if you test positive. Joe ran a red light and got a traffic ticket. Not a news story, either. The sad thing is this twit, with her jacked-up 'nightmare' nonsense, will likely garner many more TIKTOK followers. I'm sure she will milk it for all it's worth--as she has already started to do. 3

Popular Post thailand49
Unless it is an emergency " What is happening " this is the main reason everyone should think hard and fast before applying no matter what they decide to call their entry program the next time. I have a booking in February for Phuket made optimistically in November. Though it was a cheapie they are letting me change it to a later date which is nice. Thanks Jetstar. I think you have hit the nail on the head here. The authorities publish all the rules about being tested and so on, but there is nothing about being quarantined in hotels and having to foot the bill. Likewise, if they are admitted to hospital after testing positive, but showing no symptoms, or because they sat next to a positive case on the plane, the insurance companies are not likely to pay out. This should be stated clearer on the various websites. It won't be long before many of these cases hit the social media and news media and people will be cancelling their trips to Thailand. 7

You have first hand evidence that a positive test from one of the pop-up stations means an immediate detention? Though not. On the other hand I got tested last night and (after getting my negative result) askled what would happen if I had been positive...would have been adi=vised to go home and self isolate and retest in three days. If feeling very unwell to contact hospital (several numbers given so I could easily do so). I hope you take your own advice and avoid Thailand. Preferably forever. Thailand want that tourists come to visit, but putting them in quarantine will damage the image much more . Better close the borders again. Of course you can test negative but in 72 hours much can happen, but take care of your guests and at least give answers and use qualified personnel to explain things instead of only Thai speaking people.. there are English speaking Thais too There are far more English speaking Thais than there are Thai speaking English....in Thailand, perhaps it is you who should make the effort (just a little bit) to understand them rather tham the entitled BS of expecting them to understand you. Reminds me of the stiry of the Amrican woman yelling at an airport employee "If you don't understand English why are you working here?". In Singapore. My advice to travellers : steer clear of Thailand , do NOT come unless you need to be here . E.g. my wife who will somehow has to make it back . She will be carrying a test kit , as this whole quarantine thing is starting to look like a government/hospital/hotel scam . No it isn't, there are literally 100's of thousands who have come in the last couple of months, and there are tiny handful who have had an issue. You tried flying to the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, or countless other countries recently? Sure there are issues and uncertainty but Thailand are far from the only countries who are experiencing this. At least they are trying to get tourists in which is a lot more than many others. Okay its not perfect but many, myself included have got in seamlessly. For the record, i flew in on 28th evening (7pm), was in the hotel by 9pm after being tested and was woken up by reception at 7am telling me i was negative and free to go. Got the 2nd PCR on the 3rd, negative and no issue at all. The only issue i have is the MorChana app which does not recognize my Thai Pass, but overall a pretty easy access and system. The most painful part was applying to the thai Pass, but that was due to the uncertainty in terms of when you would get a response... but overall a B+ from me.

Caldera
Coming to Thailand as a regular tourist from a country where the virus runs rampant is nuts, and this case exemplifies why: The chance of testing positive upon arrival isn't negligible, and if one does, it's going to be a costly and uncomfortable mess. For anyone who doesn't have a compelling reason to return to Thailand, it simply isn't worth the risk.
