Daily News Thai Caption: A good kicking!

Daily News chose to devote column inches to what they described as the latest drama gripping Thai social media prompting many comments.

A woman called Pareploy Saeaia, according to her Facebook name, posted a video of her actions in the street against a man.

Friends tried to restrain her from attacking a guy in a blue coat who was trying to leave on a motorcycle.

He was wearing a rather sheepish smile that only seemed to enflame the woman more.

She was aiming several kicks at the man who also received some mild fisticuffs from another man. There was also some fruity Thai language.

Pareploy said she wasn't going to post about the incident in the street, seemingly in Bangkok.

She said that she decided to post as she wanted to warn other women. She said that the man had wanted to "clink glasses" with her but she refused his approach.

Then five minutes later he tipped the contents of a drink over her head prompting the scenes outside the "Khao Tom" restaurant.

"I'm a Thai boxer," she claimed. "And you picked on the wrong person, mate".

Actually she didn't say mate, notes ASEAN NOW. Water monitor might be closer to the mark spelt XXX in the Daily News article.

Later Siam Rath reported that  Pareploy had filed a complaint with Huay Khwang police.

They said she was known in the ring as "Petchploy Khwathonsung" - thonsung means a bit of log or timber.

Later in the early morning hours the man turned up and the police fined them both 1,000 baht.

  • That's an unfair and wrong characterization of the event, given the guy poured a drink over her head after being knocked back..   Perhaps you might like to retract that statement..

  • Uh because the guy dumped a drink on her head and she didn't let him get away with it?

  • Why is she being praised all over social media for trying to act gangsta?

Because the guy walked up and poured  glass of water over her when she was sat eating (did not appear loud or drunk etc).

Just a chicken <deleted> act from someone who then showed what a coward he was as soon as his target of attack stood up to him.

Who was trying to run away by the sounds of it, not got the guts to face up to the consequences of his behaviour.

Because that is what these vapids aspire to.

Not right that the man poured water on her head though.

Her acts are not great, but how would you respond if someone poured a drink over your head ? I am not one for violence and would probably not start a fight but doing something like that in general starts fights.

Where I come from if you do that to someone your asking for a fight. I would not fight but her actions are quite understandable.

Poor girl, she's covered in beer

She's going to smell like me after a night on the town.

Good on her for bashing that creep.

She failed. She lost control emotionally and physically. Nothing about her actions is admirable, despite being provoked. She demonstrated lack of control and self-discipline.

In the Army, that's what gets you killed.

What wins here, and what most don't understand, is that discipline and humility is a far better option.

Social media love it though, because the kinds of people that praise these actions lack any sort of discipline themselves.

It was beer, a significant amount. Not that that should matter.

I'm torn here.

On one hand, I can't get over how sexy she is.

On the other, I wish women understood that no matter their training, in nearly every encounter against man, they are going to get severely, gravely hurt..

Sexy legs, though. Decent face, too.

What else you gonna do if a woman is hitting you?

Well I wouldn't have thrown a drink over a woman who wasn't interested in me.

Are you kidding?

Men in general don't hit women. It is frowned upon, even if they did something to justify it.

Men who hit women often get lynched by people nearby. Lol.

The number of times I have seen women do as they please knowing full well there will be no consequences is ridiculous.

As Bill Burr said, "Do you have any idea how much of an ass I would be if it was socially unacceptable to hit me?" Lol

She looks like the water monitor in the video she is literally dripping ????
