Thailand Privilege Card Co Ltd, the company that operates the Elite Card, has launched a new program that will allow new and some existing members to legally work in Thailand.

Under the Elite Card’s new Flexible Plus Program applicants will be able to obtain a work permit.

Previously, Elite Card holders were prohibited from working in Thailand.

But now new applicants to the Flexible Plus Program, as well as existing members of the Thailand Elite Card, Elite Ultimate Privilege, Elite Superiority Extension and Elite Privilege Access will be granted the right to work in Thailand.

  • Almost $1 MILLION USD for the "privilege" of working in Thailand? Anyone paying for that needs a head check.

  • Do the people who have to administer this farce ever question the stupidity of their paymasters who come up with a never ending series of ever more stupid "investment opportunities" for westerners ?

  • You can work in Thailand for 490 Baht a day , after spending 32 million 1st . Great value ...

Can they even comprehend just what 32,000,000 actually represents, if they are earning 20/30k a month ?

Yet no-one who has $1m plus lying around is stupid enough to invest it in Thailand simply to get a work permit.

No , because politicians in Thailand ( not only there) are filthy rich , 32 million for them is pocket money . And also , among local Thais , they believe foreigners all got that amount of money also like their politicians and local "superstars"  . They don't know middle class income , having enough to live and even get some luxuries here and there , but not having x amount of millions in the bank .

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA wait for it... (grasps for more oxygen) WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Now do you believe me when I've told you all several times that these visas schemes were nothing but obvious SCAMS?

Once again and again, what's the best visa for Thailand?

Visa on arrival and the 1900 baht one month extension. Back to back. Period.

I cannot begin to imagine the beaurocratic paperwork that they require to even begin to apply and demonstrate the investment.

It's these Thai's who came up with this stupidity that need their head checked. SMH

While I get your point and agree with it, I’d say anyone believing people will pay that needs a head check.

I'll wait for the Isaan Elite Flexible Plus program so I can buy some worthless land and work a farm it until I go broke.

  • Popular Post

It requires far less investment to just incorporate then employ yourself if you're so inclined.

But I guess if someone already bought a 30 million Baht condo and has an Elite visa already and for whatever reason wanted to take a job then the option's there.

I doubt many will bother with that route but you never know

For USD$250,000 plus plus you can buy an EU passport from countries like Cyprus, Malta, Hungary or Portugal. In some countries, you get a house in return.

For USD$250,000 you can buy an universally recognised passport and residence right from Caribbean countries like St. Kitts or Dominica. And, the money you spent is not disappearing, it is actually an investment fund (normally state run sugar development fund) to those countries so you would receive some back.

For less than USD$1 million you can buy a residence right in UAE or Qatar with a big house and room for maids and drivers.

For over USD$1 million you buy nothing in Thailand but right to work. Tell me the options: what work Thailand can offer for a millionaire? I am waiting.

Thailand obviously has a lot of bridges for sale. I wonder which Russian, Iranian, North Korean or Chinese would like to buy.

Do you know how long you can keep doing 'back to back'? And are multiple back to back stamps frowned upon/gonna be an issue when you re-enter on your next visit for example............ If that was possible I wouldn't mind a flexible 8/9 month stay at that rate............................

Actually, I think you get one year to do the heist.

I find their proposed elite visa quite insulting.  Who do you think we are?  Are we really that stupid to spend 32 million THB to get a low paying job?  When will this government wake up to reality?

And you may have to pay tax on the 490 baht a day job? What will they come up with next? Free education for over 70's?

Anyone willing to pay such an astronomical gouge-price certainly does not need to work. Like me! :coffee1:

I would say it all boils down to a couple of things;

- How well can you casually dress up?

- Do you have any (albeit very basic) knowledge of the Thai language?

- Are you okay with smiling and doing a wai salute?

- How many 1000 THB bank notes are you willing to insert between the first 3 pages of your passport?

- Also are you border hopping by yourself or with a tour agent or is your Thai miss accompanying you whom can do the "talking" part on your behalf?

It boils down to some of these things at the very least.

Häppy so much. No ploplem now when I make tiling in my own Condo I had bought for 25,000,000. Must only pay 39,000,000 more. Then no penalty 2000 Baht. Happy happy. Me, I like Elite for working nitnoi. I Investor big but can not buy house. Me think next Elite card for 50,000,000 can buy house for 30,000,000?

Lets see I get a 5 year work permit for my 32 million ...hmmmm.  So in order for it to work I need to make 6.4 million THB a year, or around 53k Thb a month....doable but then what about taxes.....and who is going to hire a 50 something foreigner?

no thanks i will stick to the 1900 baht a year retirement extension....

Good luck with that, you have to notify them if you want more than a couple of 100$ at once. Doubt they have a million if you show up with the intension to rob them. Better choose the carrier.????
