Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital

Even the Russian Military Generals are not stupid enough and report it on the media they have walked away from Kherson. I think like the Ukrainian commanders we should not walk into a trap and caution should be applied.

The trap is already laid. Russia has positioned its artillery on the southern side of the river and will start shelling the other side as soon as the Ukrainian army gets near enough.

Unless Ukraine has enough precision munitions left to destroy the Russian artillery first.

American military and intelligence agencies are supplying Ukraine with intel as we speak, so they probably know the lay of the land, and that’s why they’re being so cautious. And they have been quite successful scoping out the Russians and their positions with drones as well.

Ukraine already knows where the Russian Artillery is from drone footage and updates of troop movement they won't fall for a trap like that, as soon as they're in range the Himars will be raining down on them smashing their Armour if they haven't run away.

Ukrainian troops liberated coastal town of Stanislav, just west of Cherson.

Twitter a buzz with reports that the Russians have ballsed up the retreat and around 20k Russian soldiers still left on the wrong side of the river, no way across aside from swim, they are getting pummeled. Apparently the Ukraine army advanced far quicker than anticipated. Russian journalists declaring this a total catastrophe.

Kyiv claims major gains as Russia exits Kherson

Kherson.jpg

The Ukrainian army says it has made major gains over the last day around Kherson, after Russia said it was withdrawing from the southern city.

Ukrainian troops say they have taken back the key town of Snihurivka, 50km (30 miles) to the north of Kherson.

Kyiv has also claimed big pushes on two fronts near Kherson, including advances of 7km in some places.

Russia says it has started to exit the city - its top gain in the invasion - but the process could take weeks.

The question from Russia should not be “why do we need hungry, cold, dirty, poor Europe”? Which in itself is a dead giveaway of the arrogance and ignorance of the guy posing the question, since (most of) Europe is neither hungry, cold, dirty nor poor.
The question the Russians should ask themselves is why Europe would need hungry, cold, dirty and poor Russia? Because that is what is going to happen soon to Russia. So far about 100,000 men killed, wounded or missing in the war, and probably many more casualties before this is all over. Millions of Russians have fled their country already, many more will follow. This alone is enough to cripple their economy. The western sanctions are probably not helping either. Russia has shot itself in the foot big time, and it will be many years before they recover.

This guy sounds like Goebbels spouting out propaganda nonsense, typical Nazi from old days.

Unfortunately it’s not just this guy. All those a-hole fascist pundits on Russian TV are trying to top each other in extremist talking points. Goebbels was a peace loving pacifist compared to some of these idiots.

Apparently all Russian troops and equipment have now been withdrawn from Cherson.

I can imagine it must feel so incredibly good to get rid of the Russian oppressors. I live in The Netherlands and have family who lived through five years of German occupation in WWII, and they told me it was one of the happiest moments of their lives to see English or Canadian troops arrive in their villages and towns, knowing that the horrors of the German occupation were finally over.
Here’s hoping the Ukrainians manage to kick the Russian army all the way back to their own country, where they belong.

Now they will find more mass graves, the Russians have a lot to answer for

Yeah, Kherson is liberated by Ukrainian troops! This was the kind of reception the Russians expected to get. What a monumental error of judgement the Russians made there, and it’s going to haunt them for decades to come.

Can't post the link yet but A few thousand Thugs were not quick enough to cross the bridge once it collapsed and are now trapped on the Ukraine side of the river. Once the Ukrainians are ready the full amount of Himars and ground attack missiles to take out the Russian army dug in on the other side.

I saw the video on Al Jazeera that apparently showed inside the city. It showed a large room full of munitions, presumably Russian. If the Russians are abandoning equipment that can be used against themselves something has gone very, very wrong in the Russian military. A retreating army usually blows up anything that could aid the enemy.

False. Actually, a retreating  army usually takes its munitions with them. And this retreating army had plenty of time to prepare for its withdrawal.

Biggest defeat since Kyiv. Ukraine does not agree with your thoughts.
