I think you misunderstand, if a man wants to 'identify' as a bloody donkey - that's his business.  What you've been saying all along is that mainstream society should accept that identity - I think you'll find that the majority do not. 

 

I will say this - even though as usual you will ignore it.  Attitudes are changing and there is far more acceptance of Gays etc. nowadays than there was not so long ago.  I for one am pleased for that acceptance. In an increasing number of countries, same sex marriage is now allowed - again a step in the right direction.

 

However, there is a world of difference between acceptance and norms/definitions.  We need norms and definitions for numerous reasons - you just see that as negative to suit your own purpose and that is borne out by your deliberate contectual ignorance of both my own and other posters where they state we are not being negative.  Norms, definitions and descriptors can often be taken as negative or positive - where a poster clearly states their position, it should be accepted.

 

For example, if I say I believe Gays to be of equal standing to myself, then that's exactly what I believe.  Some people may persecute Gays but I am yet to see an example here.

 

If anyone states the facts here: that by defintion, a man having sex with another man is either Gay or Bi or that a ladyboy is not actually female - you immediately go on the defensive and start stating that they can identify as they so wish. Well they can in their own world but the mainstream are unlikely to accept that.  Even then, you would say that the mainstream are regarding matters in a negative way - I don't believe that's true. I've certainly seen no evidence of it in this thread.

 

The sooner you accept your difference and the fact that most people respect you equally - the sooner you'll accept definitions, they are simply a means of identification.

 

I don't think anyone here is against you - for my own part I believe in science, bioligy and facts. If we can never rely on anything to be factual then we are lost.

 

Case in point: At the supermarket yesterday, the guy in front of me had some bags that obviously contained items with him but they were covered with plastic bags. He put a few items on the conveyor belt and walked though with the bags.  The check out lad noticed that there was something in the bags and asked what it was - he also called the manager.  The guy claimed it was shopping he'd bought elsewhere and if they wanted to search his bags, they were welcome to do so - a bluff.  They did search his bags and they contained several 'own label' products from that supermarket that clearly could not have been bought at a different store . At this point the guy then claimed he'd bought them earlier at the same supermarket but in a different city - he couldn't provide a receipt though.  He also paid by card at this supermarket but claimed he'd paid cash for the 'hidden' items so there would be no record of any transaction.  It was quite clear what was going on.

 

Should the supermarket staff have taken him at his word or checked out his explanation?  In checking the bags the staff were going by a set of norms - normative thinking.  Going by your way of thinking, they should have simply accepted the guy's explanation.

 

Just because a man identifies his sexual orientation in one particular way - doesn't make it true.  I could identify myself as Gay but I have never has any form of relationship with another male and never will - am I Gay? Conversely, I would never try to identify myself as straight if I'd had sexual relations with a man.  At a stretch, someone could possibly self identify as 'used to be Gay/Bi' but I think that would be questionable.

 

I think the other guy got it right when he said he considered himself to be 'primarily straight' - in his case he states that he is only attracted to ladyboys who clearly presented as female. There is no need for a new classification for that - its bisexual.
