Thailand is planning to attract more foreign tourists, especially Chinese, after the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) had granted permission for airlines to operate Thai-China flights.

Deputy government spokesperson Traisuree Taisaranakul said Sunday, June 26th, that the CAAC has preliminarily allowed two flights between the countries per week for the first time in several years due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Initially, the flights will be limited to business people and students. But, more flights will be available as soon as Beijing gradually reopens more international flights for its general population Traisuree stated.

Can never have enough Chinese visitors....

The one positive of the pandemic was no shouting, spitting, disease carrying Chinese tourists.

The number of flights are still limited and the price is unbelievably ridiculous. This is a pipe dream in the short term, like most of the governments/TAT plans are in the last few years.

Plus China has prevented renewal and new passports from its citizens so Thailand shouldn't get too excited just yet.

Good I will come and spend a few months before they start coming back.. perfect.

The Chinese workers building the Ream Naval Base in Cambodia will be able to slip into Thailand for a weekend of prawns and debauchery! Everyone's a winner.

When they come this time, would you please advise them to leave any viruses at home?

Its not like they brought any last time really. It was a surprise, but consensus was it came from the West, like all things bad.

Gunna have to get WS finished and repaved for the red light part of the tour before the Chinese come back.

Was the middle east ruled out...my money is still on it being a payback for the Uyghurs that got out of hand.

Lesson not learned. And they never will.

Even if they come, upon return to China, "All travelers will quarantine at a government-designated location for a minimum of 14 days upon arrival. While in quarantine, health authorities will test travelers as often as daily for COVID-19 and will not permit travelers to leave their rooms. Those who test positive during this quarantine time will be transferred to a government-designated medical or quarantine facility."

Those requirements will put a damper on Chinese who are thinking of coming to Thailand.

Spitting is illegal and subject to a fine in China. They will be turned off by such name. Probably suitable for your kind.

With all the surveillance and face recognition, maybe the spitters won't be able to get a passport.

> leaving restaurant tables behind to resemble landfills (on AND under)

> washing their feet and laundry in airport/restaurant/hotel bathroom sinks

> drying their wet laundry (including underwear) draped over airport lounge seats

> allowing their toddlers AND themselves to urinate and defecate wherever they please

> shoving you out of the way as their tour groups push through

> cramming 12 people into an elevator to ensure that they don't have to interrupt their cheerful group banter for those 20 seconds it takes the elevator to reach their hotel room floor

> aggressively pushing and shoving at the buffet, preventing everybody else to make their selection

> aggressively screaming at Thai shop assistants, oblivious to the fact that the latter will not understand a single word anyway

> dropping plastic waste wherever they please, acting hostile if you point out to them a trash bin a mere 5 meters away

> displaying complete disregard for the common courtesy of cueing at a store counter or ticket sales office

> haggling down the bill even at hotel restaurant and bars

> and, and, and...

I have witnessed all of that first-hand... and truthfully, I won't be too sad if those Chinese hordes NOT return anytime soon.

Nothing against individual Chinese travelers... but those low-budget group tours are reminiscent of locust swarms afflicting an agricultural area; and are just as destructive.

Just because its "illegal" doesn't mean they don't do it?
