Dear all, my girlfriend is threatening to leave me if I don’t send her salary of 40000 a month. I have already bought a condo in my name for her to stay. If I don’t send her the money, she says she will burn the chanote which I left it in the condo. I have been working hard in UK to send her 30000 every month and she says it is not enough. She doesnt want to get a job and she tells me it is a guy’s job to look after girl in Thailand. I don’t know the culture too much but I am worried about her destroying the condo chanote. What can i do?

Tell her to get out, and if she burns the chanote, it is a criminal act which will be followed up with a police report and legal action.

30,000 is way too much, better off with someone else of modest needs.

Give her a pay cut for poor behaviour, 10k a month is common. Very likely she is still working sex anyway

Isn't the Chanote registered with the land office?

Or say you can't afford any more, blame the Russians and the invasion of Ukraine, she can find a new boyfriend if she wants more money

And before, contact police and make them raid the condo, searching for the document.

Explain your problem and pay them for the job.

She's taking an advantage of you and you're being toooooo generous. I know few send 5000 baht per month who lives in the village in Issan. 30K is way toooo much even for Pattaya. But like they say, "Up to you"  and learn the hard way.

She will continue to manipulate & control you until you stop her by taking action.

You are her ATM until u stop paying.

He posted the same topic last year saying he was sending 40K baht/month but his massuese GF wanted another condo and a car totalling 3million baht.  ????

 

There is a collective noun for people working hard to send money to ladies that do not want to work.

 

 

Look joking aside, my wife when we got into financial issues with my tenants not paying, went out and got a security job, you know one of those ones working on a gate 12 hours, 5pm to 5 am or the other way round, 300 baht a day. I took care of our child. Can YOU honestly see this - what seems to me highly strung, hi-cost lady - doing the same ? 

 

During covid I was stuck in the UK, I had to pay Bed and breakfast, other bills in UK and send money to my family in Thailand to live. I only sent about 26,000 a month, and that covered everything, rent, electric , food, clothing, etc - And guess what, the mrs still found a way to live comfortably on it.

 

I suggest dumping this lady before you go mad or skint - sorry.

Yes, at the Land Office with a police report indicating what transpired for the original chanote to be lost, or maybe the locale will not require such.  Only way to know is to contact the local land department office that issued it.

Tell that bitch to GTFO!!! You are being used, threatened and blackmailed. She's got a Thai dude and he's banging her brains out while you're working and he wants paid. Send her packing ASAP and BEWARE your safety when you return. These Thais don't take kindly to being refused and are well known for taking revenge of the highest magnitude. 

Im offering to live in your condo while you work in the UK for the original 30k a month. I won’t burn the chanote. I’ll even evict the current ‘tenant’.
