Popular Post webfact
Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Photo: Sanook.com by TNR Staff ON HIS 73rd birthday yesterday (July 26) former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra release a 14-minute video clip on his Thaksin Official YouTube channel where he said he does not want his body to be cremated when he dies wishing for his struggle to be immortalized for his children and grandchildren, Sanook.com said. At one point in the clip Thaksin said it could be he was dumb about handling people because his experience was in the country but upon coming to Bangkok life took a big leap forward. “This is what I had to learn but I am not thinking of learning anything more as I am now old, I just want to use my academic knowledge to teach, educate my children and grandchildren. “I am not hurt but regret not being of more use to the country,” he said. Popular Post JonnyF
Thaksin had a wonderful opportunity to do something positive for Thailand, and himself. Unfortunately, he squandered it due to his greed and will live out his days in exile. He ruined it all, for money he didn't even need. The parable of the frog and the scorpion describes the situation perfectly. He's still 100x better than Prayut though. 10 1 1
Popular Post realfunster
What battle ? If he wants a battle he can return home and fight for what he wants for the people of Thailand. I suggest he hasn't got the stomach for that and prefers enjoying his billions in the comfort of Dubai...yet another member of the Thai oligarchy, who somehow, as a humble policeman from Chiang Mai, was very happy to accept a national mobile communications concession from the powers that be. My dog could have turned that opportunity into a successful business. I vote 'none of the above'. Root and branch change is needed.

I think your first paragraph makes him worse than Prayut as far as Thailand is concerned. Prayut isn't bright enough, and lacks Thaksin's skills, in raping the country.

However for me, I look at it like at least Thaksin gave something back to the poor with the healthcare scheme etc. Prayut gives nothing. It's take take take. And let's face it, he doesn't need the money either. Pure greed. Also, Thailand was a lot more fun under Thaksin. Prayut's puritanical side has really taken a lot of the joy out of the place so on a tangible level, I prefer Thaksin. Thaksin was aso a smart businessman so while he stole, he also drove the country forward. Prayut on the other hand is taking the place back to the dark ages. He'd quite happily revert the place back 200 years if given the chance. 3

Prayut isn't bright enough, and lacks Thaksin's skills, in raping the country. Summed it up perfectly. I was living in LOS when a company owned by a very rich man sold a satellite to the Government of Myanmar - I seem to recall the cost was umpteen millions of $USD ? Only trouble was, the buyer didn't have the entire purchase amount on hand at the time, rather they had only a third of it, which they paid, in cash. Then the "govt" of LOS approved a "soft loan" to Myanmar for the rest of the purchase price - that would be many more millions of $USD, if my maths are correct. Sadly, there are still a few less-informed folk in LOS who occasionally expound the supposed virtues of that now extremely wealthy, but apparently permanently exiled, businessman.

In no democracy are ministers elected, they are all appointed. When consider parlament. You want all 500 individually elected. How can a parlament with 500 individuals with no common platform like a party be anything but caos? The problem in Thailand is that there is no party founded on ideologi, they are all about power to the leader.
