That photo is from the ASEAN summit in 2018 in Singapore.

Putin will be in this Country for two days next month? Need to look into this a lot more.

This thread is a perfect example of how people twist news to suit their own agenda. The photo of the PM shaking hands was taken before Vlad Putrid invaded Ukraine, so he is not endorsing Russia's invasion.

 

Having said that, would the scene be repeated now? Probably. Remember, Thailand has failed to condemn Russia, merely expressing concern. Not that anyone anywhere cares what Thailand thinks. 

Yeh inviting a war criminal that should boost Thailands incredability,.

Really can't see him leaving Russia,  a coup would be a possibility in his absence let alone accidents happening.

I would suggest that Putin's recent actions are the antithesis of APEC's primary goal.

 

Which is to promote sustainable economic growth, trade and investment, and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.

 

Unless there is a consensus of members to censure Putin at the meeting, which won't happen, his attendance will serve no good purpose, except for him to use the meeting to push his agenda and more propaganda.
 

The best thing for mankind is that Putin's is lying in a wooden box when he leaves Thailand. Then we won't have a nuclear war and a nuclear winter that kills us all off.

Can't see him risking it.. UK and US would have special Forces infiltrated with the Thais and take this monster out. He won't risk it. He's so paranoid that nobody knows where he is in Russia, so he's hardly going to change that and visit Thailand where any of his enemies can fly in and take him out. 

One can only hope this results in a photo opportunity involving lots of pointing at a grim bloodstained cover resulting from an "incident ". ???? 

Quite frankly I would be amazed if he actually turns up seeing how paranoid he is.

While the whole world is condemming the War in the Ukrain, Thailand invites the agressor for a meeting. That will surely attrack more tourists they think maybe. Meant as soft power??? I personally think it will do more damge than good to Thailand.

On the other side of the coin, if he did make out he was coming every chance the event would be cancelled. Who on earth would risk being collateral damage.

Do you understand what stops wars?  Dialogue and mutually beneficial trade. 
Do you know what stokes wars?  Shutting down diplomatic dialogue, imposing sanctions, and projecting hegemony.  And as a side note, it also creates parallel economies.

But haters will hate right up until they see that bright, white flash and mushroom cloud, and they'll take their hate to the grave with them. 

There are better and more rational ways to deal with Geo-political strife.

putin is afraid of getting close to his own advisers while inside the kremlin. Remember his 10 meter table? No way he'd risk a plane ride to a country with less than robust security capabilities. His plane would be a target and so would he when on the ground, in a hotel, driving to and from meetings, etc.

I am sure " Too " and " Poo " will have some private meetings to discuss the supply of Gas to the Nation on the cheap.
