Chon Buri police and local officials raided a pub Saturday night, which is located on the same plot of land in Sattahip district as the Mountain B pub, the scene of a deadly fire on August 5th which has, to date, claimed the lives of  26 people and left others in hospital to this day.

Police said that the new pub, named “Never Land”, opened for the first time last night, offering food, drinks and live music. The Mountain B was ordered closed for five years following the deadly blaze.

Pol Maj-Gen Nunthavut Suwanlaong, deputy commissioner of Second Region Provincial Police Bureau, said they will invite the proprietor of the new pub to come to Phlu Ta Luang police station to answer some questions.

Its an absolute condemnation of the Authorities to allow another venture of the same kind to be opened on the exact same site.

And so quickly after the terrible event that claimed so many lives, and ruined so many others.

Its only been 3 Months or so since the fire, and the ground has hardly cooled down yet.

Some really big D###ks are involved with this money grab venture for sure.

So 'Mountain B' club was ordered closed for 5 years, yet a club with a different name can open up in its place?  While maybe meeting the the letter of the law certainly this seems to violate the spirit of the law.

Might depend who the new owners are..... I would like to think not the same ones! Although things seem to have happened rather too quickly.....

Someone big owns this now....."invited to answer questions"?......the owner is likely sitting in the RTP head office!

People who have not committed any offences nor have been accused of committing any offences, a category the owners/operators of this new venue appear to fit into, so far, can only be invited to answer questions.

Why bulldoze the new building when the original one has already been removed?  Have the operators of this new business been shown to have done anything illegal, yet?  The land is privately owned, who has the authority to erect a shrine on someone else's property?

Which law prohibits the construction of a new building, by new operators, on private land, after the original building/business has been demolished?

It is the same ones!! They have no building permit, insurance or operating license. The owner has already visited the police claiming how is he supposed to feed his family - unfkbelievable!!

Why?  Are places where deaths have occurred forever banned from being used commercially in the future even when those deaths were nothing to do with the actual owner of the land?

The previous owner, if such he is, claims to have been ruined by compensation payments to the families of the deceased. But where is his insurance company? Where the public liability insurance, the fire department checks, etc etc that should be mandatory before you can get a licence.

In Thailand ??.....    Do any of the clubs, restaurants, bars or even major shopping malls, or any public places have any of this ?

He's begging to be allowed to reopen, but has he learnt anything?

He, or us (foreign readers)... He (owner) seems to know everything he needs to to circumnavigate laws and get illegal business running again...  Its us who haven’t learned anything if we expect anything else.

This will be an exercise of wash and repeat.... Raid... pay off the BiB, re-open... stay open for a few months, raid, pay off the BiB... and so-on...   If its profitable, then it works - its only about the bottom line.
