Currently enjoying The Long Shadow - I was only a kid in the sevz' and I find these dramas fascinating, like White House Farm, as it jogs my memory about stuff I wasn't too aware of at the time. My father was telling me how uninterested he is in docu-dramas, then filled me in about The Reckoning as @Andrew Dwyer mentioned, features Steve Coogan, should be good.

If you liked The Boys then you might like this:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13159924/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

Gen V:

“ From the world of The Boys comes Gen V, which explores the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, and that their powers were injected into them, rather than God-given. These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school's highly coveted top ranking. They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university's dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become. “

Sick to death of super hero films, been done to death, first part of the Jimmy Savile drama on iplayer was better than I thought it would be. Not at all convinced by the women in the BBC office interviewing him for top of the pops disapproving of him though, as if the BBC is claiming- some of us were against him from the start.

Here’s a movie i watched a while ago and liked.

The age of Adaline: a romantic fantasy drama with Blake Lively and Harrison Ford

“ After miraculously remaining 29 years old for almost eight decades, Adaline Bowman has lived a solitary existence, never allowing herself to get close to anyone who might reveal her secret. But a chance encounter with charismatic philanthropist Ellis Jones reignites her passion for life and romance. When a weekend with his parents threatens to uncover the truth, Adaline makes a decision that will change her life forever. “

Started to watch Obituary: ( crime drama tv series )

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt23458434/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

“ 24-year-old Elvira Clancy is feeling unfulfilled, although she adores her job writing obituaries. When her newspaper falls on hard times, her boss tells her he is unable to keep her on the payroll and she finds herself being paid per obituary overnight... When she "accidentally" kills a nasty piece of work in the town, she discovers she might have an untapped blood lust. She relishes using ever more crafty methods to kill off the town's unpleasant residents while making them look like accidents. Unfortunately, a wrench lands in the works - the paper hires a suspicious new crime correspondent with a penchant for conspiracy theories, and she really, really likes him. “

The premise for this sounded good and I thought I would enjoy it but I just didn’t care for the cast especially the main character Elvira, anyone watch this and liked it ?

Now watching Who is Erin Carter?, an action crime adventure tv series .

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt18075020/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

” Erin Carter, a British teacher in Spain, finds herself caught up in a supermarket robbery. When one of the robbers claims to recognize her, her life threatens to unravel. In Palomino, a town of secrets, she must fight to clear her name and protect her family. “

This started off a little amateurish but towards the end of the first episode I took a liking to it and will persevere.

The Continental complete season 1 is now available on TGx.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6486762/

All 3 episodes (for those that have already downloaded some).

I enjoyed them thoroughly but my missus thought they were a bit "too much action" and wants me to find something a bit more mellow and romantic... :whistling:

Any suggestions?

It's a black comedy, wasn't supposed to be true to life. I found it amusing and entertaining and well acted.

Watched the whole thing last night, mainly because of Steve Coogan, who did a fair job, but I did see some "Alan Partridge" in some of his lines. Found it all a bit repetitive, and skipped some

Much better for the story of JS was British Horror Story, which this was based on
