Aparently, at one point she said "The choice is between normal and crazy." She is the person who worked for almost 2 years for Donald Trump. Clearly, that didn't teach her what "crazy" looks like. She had another chance to learn what it looks like when Marjorie Taylor Green shouted out "Liar!" to something truthful and evidence-based that Biden said. Huckabee is clearly a very slow learner.

I watched the entire speech.  I am usually not a fan of Biden's speeches.  It usually feels more like a lecture from my 7th grade social studies teacher.  This speech was much better, much more dynamic and inspiring.   I think most of us forget just how far we have come since the pandemic and how much we lost during that dark time.  I think we also saw how devastating it was to have poor leadership during that time of crisis.

I liked how he took Social Security and Medicare off the table and got the Republicans to agree, right there in front of the nation.  He handled the crowd well.

I was also surprisingly impressed with Kevin McCarthy.  He was appropriate, cautious, and willing to stand and applaud for those things he agreed with.  I came away with a new-found respect for both McCarthy and Biden.  I hope it remains that way.

Per usual Biden told lie after life, a pathological liar and whopper teller. Disgusting for a president. He lies, his admin lies. Their job is to inform and communicate with the people and not fool them as he so often does.

The NY Post editorial board is your source? Really

Here's one whopper from them:

"(the chamber was in an uproar at his fake claim that Republicans want to slash Social Security and Medicare)"

I cited a few links above that showed his claim is true. Here is the evidence again:

Entitlement, Spending Cap Plans Linked by GOP to Debt-Limit Deal

The Republican Study Committee, the largest group of House Republicans, released a budget plan in June that called on lawmakers to gradually raise the Medicare age of eligibility to 67 and the Social Security eligibility to 70 before indexing both to life expectancy. It backed withholding payments to those who retired early and had earnings over a certain limit. And it endorsed the consideration of options to reduce payroll taxes that fund Social Security and redirect them to private alternatives.

Republicans Signal Cuts To Social Security, Medicare With New House Majority

House Republicans are making clear that they intend to seek cuts to entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare with their new majority in the 118th Congress.

Their plans to target health care programs follow demands from a group of conservatives that helped elect House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) over the weekend. Those far-right lawmakers have sought across-the-board spending cuts in order to tackle the growing national debt.

This was one of the most interesting sotu speeches I've ever seen.

The engagement with hecklers was remarkable.

The NYPost checking facts. What a joke! I.e. they forgot to mention that the 2021 FY budget was voted under Trump.

I watched that miserable <deleted> Huckabee lying out both sides of her mouth as she delivered the Republican's response. The first thing I picked up on was her bragging about her executive order as governor to kill critical race theory being taught in colleges THEN accusing the Democrats of trying to eliminate free speech. You can't have it both ways. The spew continued along these same li(n)es, I won't bore with more details.

Not sure why Republicans point at Biden's age. Republican Senator Charles Ernest Grassley is 89!

Your links are to opinion pieces from a joke of a newspaper.  The first link does not identify any specific lie, the other was published before the speech.

In other words, you've got nothing but you keep posting.

MTG, quite oddly attired, stands up and screams "Liar".

George Santos stands up, waves his arms and says "Over here!".

Brilliant SOTU speech, hit on all the right notes. Prez Joe seeks to unify and move forward. Meanwhile the official GOP response, by Gov. Sanders was a hot mess of division, and a desire to move backwards.

Although he was a young scamp of 22 when he had relations with the familiy's black maid.

It's a shame that you haven't once, in this thread, offered anything specific that you object to in Biden's comments. Instead you resort to empty generalizations and unsupported assertions. You've got nothing.

I’m thinking you are correct. Otherwise the official Republican response by Gov. Sara is not the subject either.

IMO nothing that Biden can say will unify the country. It's far too broken and IMO many will regard anything he says as lies.

I thought Bidens speech was great, and that is echoed in other publications around the world that I have read.

You are probably right that the country is far too broken to listen to the great points in his speech, and sadly the Republicans and supporters thereof still pander after the lies and deceit of the former president, and as can easily be seen, the GOP is in one helluva mess and it is by their doing that the country is in this state.

Why read this rag when you can get same quality journalistic  integrity when same owners produce shows such as tucker carlson on faux news

Maybe you've been vomiting for the last 2 years. That could explain why you don't know about the huge bills that the Biden got passed into law.

Fairly. He had to take into account the very limited attention span of roughly half the audience. Even so some of the duller ones wandered off to play.
