An American tourist is seeking justice after being stomped on by a security guard at a pub in Phuket, southern Thailand, at 4am on April 9. The injured tourist decided to take the case to Thai media after the police failed to take action more than a week after he reported the crime. Police deny delaying the investigation and say the case is now closed after fining the perpetrator 1000 baht (US$29).

 

On the evening of April 8, 33 year old Bryce Alan Terzian went to Laguna Plaza Bar on Wiset Road in Rawai district, where he got into an altercation with the DJ. In a chaotic CCTV footage clip, Terzian is pictured fighting with the DJ when three security guards step in to break up the fight and drag the tourist away from the DJ.

 

One of the security guards stomps on the American’s face so hard that it broke his nose.

 

The next day, the tourist filed a police complaint at Chalong Police Station and provided a medical certificate from Chalong Hospital which stated that his nose was broken.

 

The tourist said that the police told him they would ring him the next day. However, Terzian said police still hadn’t contacted him after one week, so he decided to go to Thai Rath TV and explain his story in the hopes it would stimulate the police to take action.

looks like he started the fight. Idiot.

This isn’t America. If you take a swing at the DJ you can expect to get stomped. He is lucky he isn’t in jail himself for starting a fight.

From what I can see in the video footage, Mr. American got what he deserved.
And fixing a broken nose for THB 1,740... Nah

Unbelievable, why would you hit the DJ? And you expect the club not to protect the DJ? And asking for compensation. It’s not wild Wild West . 

still out drinking at 4am, picking fights with the dj, swinging at security staff and yet HE is the one making a complaint? What an ignorant oaf.

He could have just left the place if there was something he didn't like, but off course arguing is always the better way to let things escalate... And then blame the Thais. 

 

Lucky only a broken nose as the bill for being impolite..

I have seen in 18 years Pattaya way more smashed faces, with kicked out teeth and fantastic concussions. 

And sorry to say but 90% the root cause is created by the drunken tourists having a big mouth and continuing over and over again... 

 

Phuket is such a lovely place.

 

That's why I no longer go there and tell everyone who wants to listen that it's ????

The altercation was about a smartphone that the DJ had stolen ( supposedly ) from the American tourist who was seeking redress.

A racist slur has been removed

A common malaise with drunken inepts - always follows the same plot points:

 

Pickle themselves in booze to the point of emboldenment

Start a fight they are doomed to lose

Then cry to the police proclaiming themselves the hard done by, blameless victim

Agree looks like he started it fighting the DJ security stepped in and sorted him out 

Probably lucky that was all he  had hospital wise ???? 

Could have been worse ???? 

Everyday we see the standard of tourist that Thailand attracts. Now, I wonder why that is....

DJ's do suck but you really don't need to hit them. Just go to a bar with live (real) music ????

Perhaps, had the bar closed on time the altercation would not have occurred.

Doesn't matter which club it is in what country it is, you start a fight, expect to get hammered by the bouncers.

 

The American should have known better, if he thinks he is going to get justice, someone should tell him that he did and is lucky that they stopped at just breaking his nose.

 

No sympathy here, however I have seen these guys in action and it's usually because of others being intoxicated and starting it, som nom nah.

 

Go home yanky, start it there and let's see what happens, maybe you can get a different type of justice there that your looking for.

One would think that after having to run away from the Vietnamese Americans would have learned not to fark with asians. Idiots of all nationalities come here and disrespect Thai people then boo hoo when they cop the consequences

For whatever it's worth, he says in a video that the story was misreported, and that the time was actually between 11:30 and 11:45pm.

Without even reading this and i don't care what the situation was this guy must have deserved a slapping, but stomping on his head is a tad extreme

Just to clarify because i am little confused, so he picks a  fight with s staff member, gets thrown out and in the process gets his nose broken, but wants to file charges and have what outcome? be compensated ? or what?

 

In the video i see he keeps resisting when 3 guards dragging him away
