That's really sad.  He was definitely the most helpful and accurate contributor on the visa and immigration related issues, he must of donated thousands of hours and helped hundreds of people over the years, I know for sure I've benefited from some of his helpful posts over the years which without I would of been lost. RIP and condolences to immediate family and friends

This is very sad news and is a great loss for many forum members who in the past relied greatly on his knowledge of all things Visa.  He shared his wealth of knowledge to all and was especially helpful and supportive of others.  He could always be counted on to be kind to myself and others after reading our extensive posts where we asked many questions.  If one still needed information, he would also take the time to discuss what we needed by PM.  May he RIP and condolences to his family, friends and to the folks within the organizations to which he was affiliated.

May he RIP and now be free to do the lord's work.

RIP Joe,

Over the years Joe gave so much helpful and accurate advice to all here on ThaiVisa/AseanNow.

Wow...

The best of only a handful of consistent/accurate members here without whose advice my move to LOS would have been much less efficient.

Half of me really has no use for this board anymore now.

RIP, mighty one. And thank you for the guidance along the way.

Despite being a confirmed atheist I wouldn’t be entirely surprised to see an Ubon Joe post with guidance on how to obtain that final and everlasting "Retirement visa" . Guessing most here would wisely follow that advice …even me !
Thanks Joe ????

Incredibly sad to learn this.

UbonJoe was so very helpful, especially during the covid nightmare.  He was never condescending, always sympathetic, and didn't get agitated if people disagreed with him.

Several times I suggested in threads he was active in that if he were to drop a link to a a "buymeacoffe.com" type site that people would love to express thanks for all his help.  He wasn't interested in any kind of reward.

On a small forum, of a website that a few people call home, he made a difference... ????

Very sad news indeed,  you will be sorely missed Ubon Joe.

One of the most helpful people you could ever meet on AN.

His impeccable visa knowledge and anything to do with immigration will certainly be very hard to replace.

RIP Ubon Joe ....  sadly missed, never forgotten.

OMG. What a SHOCK. The end of an era and a big loss for the forum, needless to say. I believe he was the best we'll ever have in his specialty.

Look forward to a few more details.

RIP, Joe.

A huge loss to the ThaiVisa (Aseannow) and expat community. In fact a huge loss to anyone with interest in visiting Thailand who may have questions - my commiserations to his family and close friends.

The answers provided by Upon Joe is perhaps one of the primary reasons many people joined this forum in the first place. I certainly found ThaiVisa.com when looking for visa related information - the obvious follow on being that I saw ‘other Thailand related news, information and discussions’.

I hope UJ’s family and friends are reading these pages and they can understand that even to those who didn’t know him what a positive impact he had on so many individuals.

Ubon Joe - thank you for the invaluable assistance you have provided me with in the past, thank you for the assistance you have provide so many individuals with, may you now rest in peace.

An immense and irreplaceable loss.

Joe knew more about Thai immigration rules than anyone, and gave of his knowledge ceaselessly, asking nothing in return.

He was also active in good works in his community, especially through the Ubon American Legion.

Deep condolences to his family.
