Trump charged with four counts over 2020 election

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

It appears that from recent statements by the infamous MTG she will be trying to institute the Holman rule - Wikipedia in order to shut down Jack Smith.

Its funny that the Trump Supporters and MAGA crowd have also latched onto the "They had 2 1/2 years to prosecute Trump, why wait until now, oh its because of the Biden crime family and its election interference"  How many times must folks be told that it takes time to build a case, gather the evidence, interview witnesses and then determine if charges are appropriate.  Two and a half years ago the date would have been February 2020, and just right after the Jan 6th debacle.  How could prosecutors have built a case in just under a month.  Many of those interviewed were just done this year as more and more information was obtained about there involvements.  Yet the MAGA faithful believe what Trump spouts, and had he been charged in 2020 or 2021 they would have had the same rhetoric with "Pelosi is leading this witch hunt".

The rule of law is the rule of law, and it does not matter who you are, commit a crime or crimes and after and investigation is done and completed it will go to court, cases take time to assemble and if you rush them then they fall apart and you, as the defendant, walk free when you were guilty and false prosecution statements are made,

Thats funny.  What the issue is really about is that they and others, much like you and the poster you quoted, never look at the rule of law and apply it evenly and fairly to all involved.  As a now retired CEO of my own investigations company after a life as a LEO, if one of my employees did something wrong or the company was led astray under my watch, than I as the head of the company would be responsible.  If as a LEO Manager if something happened under my watch and I never did anything to stop it, and even if I was not involved, then I would be culpable as well.  You folks just can not see that.  As the now former POTUS has done, and did, and is still doing, he is inciting folks to do his bidding, that is not Free Speech.

When he thought McCain was going to be president , he was his best friend , then even though trump was trashing McCain,  when it seemed like trump might win he became trump's best friend. Then when it looked like trump was finished he dumped trump but just as soon as he realised that he was not done  he reversed course and became trump's best friend again.

Wouldn't they then have to arrest election denier Stacey Abrams too? Or has America now openyly got 2 sets of laws, one for conservatives and another for the left.

I love how the left try(and fail) to state why their own election deniers are good, while GOP members that want to make sure results are on the up and up are "insurrectionists". So hypocritical

A scam as sworn to by republican after republican who were actually present for many of the conversations and testified under oath as to the various illegal activities done by the man who had hired them or appointed them and who they had voted for.

Yep once again those incompetent democrats have pulled off a fantastic feat by convincing these life long republicans to lie under oath....almost as good as the incompetent dems who managed to rig the election in 7 states without leaving a shred of evidence to be uncovered by 60 court cases, recount after recount, investigation after investigation almost all of which were conducted by republicans who voted for trump.  Wow that truly is the "ultimate scam" in history.  Not bad for a bunch of incompetent democrats.

Last time i checked stacey abrams was not and has never been the president and never tried to overthrow the government...but rattle on about how hard gop want to make sure results are on the up and up but then refuse to accept the results of 60c court cases, investigation after investigation and recount after recount done almost all by the GOP that found no significant election fraud.  Got it.

Peacefully, so Jan 6th was peaceful? He also tried to intimidate election workers as well, or is that all fake.  As far as Pence goes he tried to have him stop a ceremonial procedure to close out the election as far as the EC was concerned, or did that not happen?  Did he not also employ a tactic to have Fake electors installed?  Your off in the weeds, looking for your golf ball right about now, but if you were trump it would mysteriously drop from a tree and onto the green or fairway........stop being so naïve.

Did Stacey Abrams create fake electors, try and stop Pence, or incite folks to "Fight like Hell" Your still in the weeds.  And this is not a witch hunt, or election interference, your hero DT violated the law and is now being held accountable.  Tell me and us here on AN how Stacey Abrams violated the law with being a vocal election denier?

You do realize the Trump Russia collusion you are TWICE referring to in this post has been debunked long ago? You knw it was, I guess some narratives are just too beneficial to dump even when we know they are disinformation. Why does the forum left keep attacking Trump over the hoaxes their side concocted to smear him(this week we had someone attacking him for the false claim he cleared a street for a photo op too and many others)?

"The Russia-Trump collusion narrative of 2016 and beyond was a dirty trick for the ages, and now we know it came from the top—candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. That was the testimony Friday by 2016 Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook in federal court, and while this news is hardly a surprise, it’s still bracing to find her fingerprints on the political weapon."

You claim that Russia's support of Trump in 2016 was a hoax, which indicates you haven't been paying attention.

Why did Trump's campaign manager hand deliver polling data to the Russians?

Well, except that he volubly and repeatedly called for crowds to gather in Washington DC, made a speech outside the White House in which he named Pence, (conveniently a portable gallows was to hand, but then there are always a few of them knocking around on Capitol Hill) accused him of cowardice, and told the mob to march on the Capitol.

He then watched it unfold on TV for several hours, making no attempt to stop it.

So, nothing to do with him then, he is a sorely misunderstood person!

Oh, and questioning the results, he did that alright; how many cases did he take to various courts, 60 odd? All dismissed for lack of evidence. Mind you, his crack legal team, Giuliani and that barking woman called "Sydney" managed to make Fred and Wilma Flintstone look like credible candidates for a Doctorate in Phillosophy - but that was no doubt all a misunderstanding as well.

He asked Raffensperger for OATS, not votes!  He wanted Mel to make Georgia-style oatmeal.  What?  You thought he said "votes"?  C'mon, only an idiot would do something like that!

You have to add VP Mike Pence, who did not cave, faced threats, yet still did his job. I'm not otherwise a fan of his, but he stood tall when it counted. Add Brad Raffensperger of Georgia and the Speaker of AZ House.

And all the Capitol police who stood firm against the terrorists on 6 January. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger for putting country over political ambitions.

Should we also add the cabinet members who threatened mass resign vs Jeffrey Clark? And last but not least Cathy Hutchinson, whose life is not going to be the same after the Jan6 hearing. And whole host others who away from the spotlight did something behind the scene to impede the "stampede..." - that we might never find out, that why I called them "unsung heroes."

Smith lets indictments speak for him
Updated August 3, 2023 at 4:43 p.m. EDT

Legal experts said that much of the election conspiracy case is likely to center on a question of intent — essentially, whether Trump believed his false claims while pushing to have the election results overturned.

And that, they said, could pose a challenge for Smith and his team.

“It’s certainly not an easy case, it’s not a slam-dunk case,” (Lauren Ouziel, a former federal prosecutor in Manhattan and Philadelphia who is now a law professor at Temple University)
said, “because it really comes down to mental state, to intent.”

They might be clueless in many respects, but as for VIOLENCE, they are well clued in. In fact, it was Boebert and the likes who gave  Capitol tours to "red cap visitors" days before, and when the mob went in chanting "Nancy where are you?" wanting to drag her out by the hair down the stairs (rhyme unintended) - it was her who CLUED them in as to where Pelosi was. The same with Josh Hawley giving the mob a punch salute on the front steps that very morning to the mob ready to "fight like hell." And what did Mark Meadows - who now must be singing like a canary - communicate to the mob headquarters at the Windham (?) hotel the night before? on how to draw up a peace treaty? Those names still make my blood boil.

Your beliefs don't align with reality. There was no coordinated effort to attack Trump within the law enforcement community.

I have to disagree on this.

If you rob a bank, it doesn't matter if you truly believe the money is really yours.

However, state of mind enters the picture when considering an insanity defense.

Speaking of Mark Meadows....can there be any doubt that he is certainly filling in a lot of blanks and could well be a very top level witness against donnie and the dumbos?   He had already turned over all kinds of emails, texts, etc to J6 committee but then mysteriously stopped....you don't suppose he got a call from the don with a few threats?

Meadows has no spine either but i suspect he did manage to figure out he better tell what he saw and heard or he would get charged and maybe end up spending a few years in the slammer.

Will be interesting to see him on the stand telling all he saw and heard from poor little innocent never did a thing that wasn't perfect donnie.  Rest assured that if that happens the death threats from the cult will reach new levels.

How long will the various judges allow donnie and the cult to threaten judges, lawyers, witnessess, etc til they give donnie a sample of what prison life might look like?

trump has always been a clown...dare I say a$$h0le.

On 21 January 2017, rather than sit in the WH where a Code Pink protest was happening outside, trump came up to agency HQ in Langley.

At first Mission Center Chiefs and SIS officers had to listen to a private speech by trump, who spent the entire time telling everyone how great he was. Then he went to check out the terrorism center before going back to the lobby, where he made a speech in front of the Memorial Wall. Most of us have friends on that wall. Outgoing Ex-Dir Meroy Park introduced him, and then it became a total embarrassment.

There were 6 rows of chairs set up for an audience. The first 3 rows were reserved---for new WH staffers that came to the agency on buses. They were the trained seals, hooting and hollering at everything trump said---all of which was more of telling everyone how great he was.

Real agency folks were stuck in the back 3 rows, wondering who the eff the clowns were in front, and as our job is reading and assessing people, realizing that trump was an ignorant,  lying, self-serving Narcissist.

It was a revolting display and an affront to the men and women who sacrificed for the country and were immortalized with stars on the wall. trump was barking about how massive his Inauguration crowd was (a lie, it wasn't even 25% the size of Obama's), how he was 'like...really really smart', how he had more TIME magazine covers than NFL QB Tom Brady, and the scam was to pretend the agency was really supportive of him by having his goobers bused in from the WH make all the noise.

And don't forget the resounding slap on the face to the FBI on worldwide tv when at Helsinki Trump declared on the podium that he rather get intel from his chum Putin. Traitor, anyone?

Many points to ponder in that post as I have noted, but then again lawyers will do what they will, but many a case has faltered on their "misguided" beliefs........after all the trump lawyers fought 60 cases on their misguided beliefs and look where that got them!
