Many will have pimps behind them however Thaifriendly is not advertising escort services themselves.... they are simply providing the gateway for girls to meet new people and what those people do from there is nothing to do with thaifriendly.

Thaifriendly is owned by foreigners, they will be profiting from the premium subscription service offered on their dating website.

Then why does TF not implement an automatic word deletion function (same as this forum) so that a member cannot write the word freelancer in her profile?

its not legal to run an escort site in the states. what makes him think its ok to run one in Thailand? they have actual cyber crime laws here. guests should respect their host.

But it is a fuss about money, associated with a nationality...

The business was/is too big/successful and made too much money. Always have a low key operation that doesn't steal business from the locals.

Wow. Talk about overpriced. I recognize two of the women on their website and had them for half the price this 'agency' charges by just chatting them up on a Thai dating website. Glad they've been busted, seeing as the prices they're charging are a ripoff.

Why ?

"A freelancer is an individual who earns money on a per-job or per-task basis, usually for short-term work as an independent contractor. A freelancer is not an employee of a firm and may therefore be at liberty to complete different jobs concurrently by various individuals or firms unless contractually committed to working exclusively until a particular project is completed."

Thaifriendly is not really the same though.

It is more a meeting site, what is negotiated does not have anything to do with the website.

And most negotiations are done on Line, a friend told me.

Correct.

Many girls have not paid for the premium access so are limited to one message every 10 mins so will ask to move chat to line or whattsapp.

I wonder if they're doing the same for Thai online criminals?  Will the second largest sex for sale website now be in their sights?  Or is that Thai run and therefore OK.

Obviously, they target foreign criminals first, like all countries do.

I talked recently with a friend, who is a deputy commissioner in the RTP, about foreign criminals and the threat they are to the country, especially in Hua Hin and Pattaya. Granted, this crime is at the bottom of the list. Interesting that the Immigration police made the arrest, as it was instigated by the CSD.

Amazing all the comments about not going after Thai criminals.

Foreign crime is rife in Thailand, and most of the criminals are illegals, they don't have a Work Permit, they buy their visa from an agent, in order to bypass the immigration requirements. They are next on the list, along with motorcycle outlaws.

I rent a freelancer every weekend from TF, she comes round to my house for a 1hr massage then does some housework.

No sex involved.

Do they?  Not the worst or most dangerous offenders first?  Foreigners are more of a danger simply by the fact that they are foreign?  Do you have any evidence of that?

Decades ago a psychological experiment was done with chimps and tokens to see if they could adapt to a "money economy" to buy food, etc. They could. Also, one clever female set herself up as a prostitute, made lots of tokens.

I am not making this up...

How far might this Potemkin moral fiber extend?

Will Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy, Walking Street and LK Metro be closed down? Will the dozens of Thai-owned Escort Services be shuttered and taken offline? Will "Soapies" be boarded up? Will massage shops begin offering only 'traditional' massage and no happy endings? Will high-ups and government officials be subject to arrest for taking on university students as mia nois?

Will the business laws be changed and put "owning a business geared toward prostitution" on the same list as diamond polishers, hairdressers or wood carvers---jobs prohibited to foreigners?

There's been a 'rumour' going around for about 15 years that Nana Plaza will be shut down, I think there was a previous 'rumour' about Washington Square also?

I disagree with exploiting the girls like this but I think the issue being raised by the article is that they were operating covertly and not paying "Tax" or T money.  Plus he is breaking Employment Law of course by operating in a banned profession anyway and wouldn't have had a work permit or work visa either. All of which are victimless crimes. The actual crime though is almost brushed unfer the table. Every chance he's been being monitored for a while to let the the assetts built up. That declared 9M in the bank was more likely to be considerably higher.

I hope they throw the book at him.

You are embellishing though.  She didn't set herself up as anything, nor did she "make lots of tokens".  It was an isolated incident which the researchers prevented from reoccurring.

"During one chaotic incident, a researcher observed what appeared to be a monkey exchanging a disc for sex. The monkey that was paid for sex immediately traded the silver disc for a grape. The researcher subsequently took steps to prevent any possibility of coins being traded for sex."

It's ultimately up to the Mob, and the organized crime gangs. One thing is sure, Pat Pong will not be going anywhere.

"Immigration Police on Friday (Aug 18) announced the arrest of an American man and his Thai wife who allegedly ran an escort website from their home in Hua Hin."

And further down in the article:-

"His accomplice, Ms. Kanya (last name withheld), 34, was detained after arriving on a flight at Suvarnabhumi Airport."

Was it his wife or not? And why was her last name withheld?

Was she clever or desperate, due to addiction to food?

Use a server in another country and funds deposited to another country bank, then make regular withdrawals in cash.  Don't leave a paper-trail.

Most of all, if the operation may be considered rouge, don't acquire expensive titled properties or assets.

Rent or lease, don't buy titled assets in the countries you are operating a rouge business.

Rouge?!?  LMAO
