Khusein Askhabov, a well-known fighter in MMA circles, has been arrested with his twin brother, Khasan, in relation to a violent robbery at a house in Phuket.

The Phuket News reports that three Kazakh men forced their way into the home of an Italian man in the northern sub-district of Chergntalay at around 11pm on Sunday, September 3. The man was bound and gagged, violently beaten for hours, and robbed of personal possessions valued over 12 million baht.

It’s understood that during the man’s ordeal, his attackers were receiving phone calls from someone who was seemingly orchestrating the attack and giving them instructions. During one call, the attackers were told to ask their victim for the whereabouts of a computer harddrive containing a “ledger of cryptocurrency”.

No prizes for guessing which of the brothers eats the most pies.

Visa type and TM30 status?

They look too young for the "too easy" over 50's dastardly criminal visa.

Oh well, why not tell us the real story, unnamed Italian man?

As usual,  probably alot more to this story than told.

Maybe he owed money

Maybe a drug deal gone wrong

Maybe a business deal gone wrong

If they are Russian,   just send them to Crimea ...  hopefully they'll get what's deserved there.

No, you just have to read the article.   The Russian brothers weren't the attackers.

Stated crackdown on foreign criminals operating here. This news item is about some criminals.

Do try to keep up.

So, as I stated, their visa and TM30 status are irrelevant.  Either, they have visas or they don't and. either way, their visa (and especially TM30) situation has no effect, whatsoever, on the case.

Maybe you should read the post again. The guy calling the 2 russians told them to get the 'Ledger' hardware wallet off the Italian guy. This has to be the reason. If the Italian guy gave it to them they would then need the password for it and then they can transfer all the crypto...

You can't expect much from Thai reporters, nor editors to catch such nuances. I've worked at both the now-defunct The Nation newspaper and the Bangkok Post, after years in U.S. newspapers and Thai reporters are spoon-fed information and even if it's contradictory or doesn't make sense, they are too shy to ask questions, unless they are softballs

I realise that this might be difficult to grasp for someone with an over pedantic mindset, but the point I was making was that the case should/may have relevance to visas. If "too easy"retirement extensions are going to be tightened up on due to one crime, shouldn't any other visa type be tightened up on if people are who are using it commit crimes?

Those on ED visas might be wondering if that was their visa type, as if it is, then there might be a crackdown on "criminals using ED visas".

Illegal ED visas are thriving in Phuket. It's high time to stop this illegal business!

Russians or Kazakh ?
Or more Russian bashing from you ?

OK, as you told us Udon would be in Northern Thailand you may not be that firm with other countries as well ...

Lock them up then ship them back to Putin he can use them for target practice for the Ukrainian soldiers

Maybe you should follow your own advice, because nobody was calling the 2 Russian, since they weren't there.
