Thai Police dismantles 4 Hubs of Escort Websites Serving Foreigners

BANGKOK - On September 20, 2023, under the leadership of Pol. Lt. Gen. Phanthana Nuchcharoen, Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, a joint operation led by Pol. Col. Pharakon Naphachoti, Deputy Commander of the 3rd Region Police Bureau, and other high-ranking officers successfully dismantled a criminal network operating escort websites.

 

The operation, known as PCT1, uncovered illegal activities related to websites such as www.absolute-angels-bangkok.com, reported Siam Rath.

Upon investigating these escort websites, the authorities discovered a complex network of individuals involved in the international sex trade.

 

This led to a swift and continuous investigation, including the examination of smooci.com, another website offering sexual services across multiple countries, including Thailand.

The main administrator of this network, known as "Ingwan," (assumed name), was found to manage the overall operations. "Punwathana," (assumed name), a female assistant administrator, handled financial matters, and a call center team facilitated daily appointments.

 

To evade detection, the network used VoIP phone systems with operators scattered across different regions in Thailand.

After gathering significant evidence and pinpointing locations associated with unlawful actions, a report was submitted to local law enforcement, culminating in the issuance of arrest orders.

 

On September 16, 2023, authorities carried out these orders, leading to the apprehension of pivotal figures and the confiscation of proof.

 

At a condominium in the Sukhumvit 50 area, Phra Khanong district, Khlong Toei, Bangkok,
An apartment in the Happy Land area, Khlong Chan, Bang Kapi district, Bangkok.

This endeavor not only revealed the magnitude of illicit escort services but also exposed the intricate tactics utilized by the criminal syndicate. Charges include involvement in human trafficking, facilitating prostitution, and operating unlicensed VoIP systems, similar to the one used by Call Center gangs

 

The arrested individuals will now face legal proceedings, and the investigation will continue to identify and prosecute all involved parties, both within and outside of Thailand.
