Warning! Warning! UTUBE Has Warned me: No More Blocker!

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I guess I will not be posting anymore UTUBE videos in my TV Topics, in the future.

This is a GOOD THING, because, in my opinion, UTUBE videos, the popular ones, just rot your brains, as if most of you even had a brain.

Many years ago, before UTUBE, I read books, books written by Roth.

But, after UTUBE became so easy and CHEAP to watch, I stopped most of my reading, and became a slave to Google.

NO MORE!, I say.

I have recently received many warnings that I need to PAY TO VIEW UTUBE....

WHAT!!!!!????

Are you kidding me?

Google wants me to PAY to view UTUBE GARBAGE!!!????

No way, folks.

I am going to STOP UTUBE, just as soon as I can.

I am going back to reading BOOKS.

And I know where to FIND the titles of the books I need to read....TOO!

I can find them in the BOOKS section on TV.

I am not JOKING, actually....

When I read a book by Philip Roth, I feel good.

When I watch garbage on UTUBE, I feel like something that the description of might be banned on TV....

Maybe, in the future, UTUBE might allow educational videos for FREE....but all others, must be paid for, in some way, by the viewers.

Can you even IMAGINE listening to Vivaldi, a great opera, for example, and then having the opera stopped in mid-flight for a Google Ad?

HERESY, I say.

Fie on this type of model.

So, what about you?

Will you soon go back to books, once UTUBE puts its ADBLOCK into full force/

I KNOW that I will....

And, what is left of my brain will thank Google for this new ADBLOCKER BAN POLICY....

Thank you, Google...

You are becoming ever more DETHPICABLE, by the day....the week...the year....the decade...

Why don't you want to pay ? Should the content makers work for free and not get paid for their job ?    Are you a free loader who wants everything for free and doesn't like paying for things

Never a good idea to post on Thai Visa when inebriated.

There are always ways around things. You can download the videos for free or you can splash out on a ‘premium’ subscription for as little as 55 baht a month if YouTube is a useful resource to you. But so far I don’t see any ads anyway, so no need to panic nor overdramatise…

Lots of educational videos on Youtube. Learn a language, maths, how to's etc.

I agree that the adverts are annoying, but I am not prepared to pay for "Premium" so understand that I have to put up with them.

There are some Ad Blockers that work with Youtube, but I just can't be bothered. I don't take any notice of most advertising anyway. Just go and make a cup of tea or have a quick browse on my phone whilst they are showing.

Do you pay to go on this forum? No, you don't as it's paid by advertising.

U Tube have loads of ads, so it's the same thing.

I don't pay to listen to radio, do you?

I don't pay to watch freeview tv, do you?

Started getting the 'ad blocker' warning also on YT, and same as many sites, just refresh the page, and it's gone.

I get what he's saying.

Philip Roth is great.

But so is lots of the content on youtube

I must admit that I overdo it.

I hate their new ad policy that you can't skip.

Yet I am considering paying to stop that.

Their content has value. Expecting to get it free forever is not realistic.

Use TikTok as the US social media are becomming real scammers with their ads and moneymaking policies.

FF has adblockers for Utube .

But my OS is Linux . Others I dunno ...

They get paid by the advertisers via YouTube, it is something like 12 USD a month for every 1,000 views/likes.

I get an option on my TV do you want to enjoy with no ads, i.e. pay money, I can just press 'dismiss'.

Don't facilitate or humour him. I watch U Tube and read books.  They are not mutually exclusive, unless you are exceedingly dim.

DIM!

That's the word I was trying to remember.

How many hours does it take to earn that $10?

.EDU Unlimited storage is also kaput now.

I will not pay.

I will downgrade storage needs from 20 TB to 2 TB.

I will not pay.

I will get my life back.

I only buy a smartphone once every dozen years.

But, now, I plan to buy 2 x 8 TBYTE HDDs, and store my data locally.

But, will PornHub continue to be ad free?

As long as yt on Brave browser and WinX downloader work fine I don't bother.

Pay if forced? Not sure.

Pay for X. No way.

Downloading has another advantage: you can watch the video to the very end without last 10/15 seconds being plastered with suggestions (which Brave can not impede).

Do not show anything relevant in the last 15 seconds of your yt.

My three-tear-old knows which button to quit adverts.

I will pirate bay all of JS Bach on the internet.

Then, I will try to read the books I should have read during the past decade of UTUBE.

Listen to more chamber music.

And maybe write a novella about the ship of fools I've met on TV.

Might even study the art of self-foot massage.

For mobile, install YouTube Revanced or NewPipe or watch on the Firefox mobile browser with the Privacy Badger extension added.

On a laptop watch YouTube in your browser.

There, no more adds.

"I am not prepared to pay for "Premium"..."

It's sad if that is beyond your means but B159 per month is dirt cheap to get rid of the annoyance completely.

Not beyond my means  It's my choice. I pay for plenty of other TV streaming services including Apple and Netflix. I just don't feel the need to pay for Youtube.

If I wanted, I could use an Adblocker. Just doesn't bother me that much.
