Maddow was on to something, she did a detailed expose on the very frauds for which Trump has just been ordered to pay hundreds of millions of dollars + interest.

Maddow was on the money.

And the money has just been ordered to be taken off Trump.

You should watch more Maddow and less Trump.

  • Trump is finally reaping what he has sown over the years he must be exhausted from all the winning 355 million on this one then 88 million for assaulting Jean Carrol I forgot how much he had to pay in

  • It's not political at all. It's called the law and nobody's above it.   In fact, this proves how good the legal system is...more to follow.

  • is that a Dem voting Judge by any chance?

No politician is any better or worse then the former or the latter.

It's all about running the country and costing as little as possible on public money. Wasting as little as possible of public tax payers money.

You can like or not like Trump. But he won't go on a spending spree of public money to encourage wars all over the world.

During Tump's previous term in office, all the corporate pension investments over the world made profits like they never did. This is the only reality that would be of concern.

The rest is just a disgusting political game that all politicians and the media like to play globally.

I prefer a nasty, despicable chap in power, but who will make money for himself and the country and the tax payers, rather then some over aged bureaucrat, who has never earned money for himself and only lived thanks to his salary paid with tax money.

The saddest part is how his sycophants can't back up their statements but merely vomit Fox NOT news conspiracy nonsense. Lame, buddy. Just sad and lame.

I missed a beat this morning.

I had an early appointment so couldn’t watch the news of Trump’s latest loss on FOX.

I feel somewhat aggrieved.

So much fun reading Trumpers excuses. None of them know the law or think that "every body" in real estate does the same thing and they will now all leave. It's the same thing Trump said campaining against Biden; "The stock market will crash"

Awful lot spent at Mara Lago and his golf clubs in his presidency - not huge in the scheme of things but puts him in a poor light. He stuffed up dealing with Covid which of course had a bad effect on the economy. Payments a huge cause of  inflation. Not blaming him for covid or saying payments were wrong but he was no economic whizz kid.  Don't get this notion of Biden as a war monger. Stopped Afghanistan - botched but stopped none the less. Not responsible surely for Putin's actions and Hamas. Can question long term influence and effects but that's not particular to Biden.

GAWD how this lack of awareness is getting old.

The banks dared not argue with that fraudster cuz he would leave a trail of dead companies which disagreed with him in his wake. Even the largest of financial institutions turned a blind eye for fear of the legal entanglements.

Prior to 2016, Trump was involved in over 4000 lawsuits, either as a plaintiff or defendant. A normal businessman would be unfortunate to have five.

If can handle it, read the 92-page ruling. It details trump's massive criminality and fraud. John Gotti would tip his hat to donny.

If you really cared about the "Republic", you would not support a clown who tried to overthrow it.

Oh, you mean he called his goobers to DC on 6 January to get deals on souvenirs? He sent them to the Capitol to take selfies as Pence certified what trump's own tech tsar called 'the freest and fairest election in US History'?

There is no question that he is a wannabe mafioso, the issue for him is that he doesn't have the cajones for it, and he is a major coward, so the best he can do is steal money from unsuspecting souls and defraud banks and the IRS. However he the one thing he does possess is the requisite pathology for being a gangster thug.

What you also wrote is quite interesting.

"During Tump's previous term in office, all the corporate pension investments over the world made profits like they never did."

So if it was like that all over the world, it can barely be attributed to Trump, right?

The kind of reactions I expected from a forum of 95% liberal <deleted>.

At the time of the loans in which he paid back in full btw, the banks of course did their due diligence and ensured the properties were worth their value, much the same when I obtained a mortgage.

No red flag at that time until Trump is running for office.  Coincidence?, I think not.

If he wasn’t running none of these BS charges  would even appear.

You guys don't seem to get it. You somehow equate your little house and its pittance of a mortgage to borrowing a $billion and claiming assets you try to value at 12 times their actual value, as if your $250K single family home is worth $3 million.

Banks that make home mortgages tend to be very local and intimately involved in their communities., They have a good idea what the value of properties are. When assessing a loan application on a $500 million building, and looking at pledged collateral, lots of complex things enter into it....age, size, vacancy, lease agreements, lease tenure, potential new buildings in the area which will compete, potential public works in the area, fire codes, asbestos, structural integrity...a bazillion things. Banks have credit analysts who do some due diligence, but also must rely on what the loan applicant writes and swears to---UNDER PENALTY OF LAW.

If a bank messes up, shareholders or bank regulators can become involved, but there is no statute on the books that demands a bank perform due diligence according to specific rules. There are, however, specific rules regarding the truthfulness borrowers must exhibit when submitting an application. FDIC, remember, backs deposits, so there is a public concern that loan applicants be truthful.

Absent the expectation the loan applicant tells the truth, what would be the purpose of any application? Why even bother, if the potential borrower can lie through his teeth, as trump did for years?

The laws are specific. trump knew them. He lied. He lied bigly, as in claiming something vlaued at $14 million was actually worth $161 million. Given the a ctual risk, banks should have recieved a greater risk premium. Shareholders should have seen higher bank income.

Judge Engoron had the ill-gotten gains added up and now requires trump to disgorge those ill-gotten gains. It isn't because he's running; it's that trump's lies were so egregious and consistently fraudulent that he must be punished. No other RE person in NYC even remotely approaches the fraud of trump.

Snowflakes claim it's all a witchhunt, but it is upholding the law. They arte incapable of accepting the fact that their messiah is a total fraud, for they live vicariously through him. If he is exposed as a crook and a loser, that leaves them with nothing.

In the bigger picture I wonder if this begins to eat away at Trump's reputation even amongst his fans - he always seemed to have an allure amongst his base of somehow playing 3 dimensional chess and never having consequences until recently.

Second is the moral argument. Is the the fact that charges had been laid on a fairly common occurrence, without actual victims, and the huge size of the penalty an indication of unreasonable bias. Could it tar all cases against him to the public as being motivated by bias. If it is based on some bias, is it bad to fight fire with fire,  if your opponent uses every dirty trick of legal and other manipulation,  to avoid consequences. Or are the charges and penalty fair and it is more his high profile that makes it noteworthy.

Perhaps the scale of the penalty is somehow linked to the scale of the fraud; the fact that he and the organisation he heads - and controls, is something of a repeat offender!

Anyway, it will require an awful lot of good ol' boys to forego new gun racks in their pick up trucks to raise the donations for either paying the fine or the appeal bond. I doubt any bank or bail bond company is going to touch this one!

Bit of a shame really!

Any news of a verdict on the paying off the porn stars cases - you know, the one where all the "great legal scholars said no crime was committed!"

I'd say USD35k USD for a leg over with a silicone enhanced blonde was criminal, especially as she then takes the piss by going public and describing him running around the bedroom in his underpants.

The stock market performance under Obama dwarfed trump.

Obama inherited nearly 10% UE and left trump 4.8% UE and a growing economy, recovering from the worst financial crisis since the 1930s.

trump left Biden 6.8% UE and a Recession...but did give us Covid 'hope' by telling us to inject disinfectant. trump also increased the 240 year total National Debt by 41% in just 4 years, a staggering $8,400,000,000,000, which subsequently caused inflation. That debt also dwarfed the total GDP change during trump's tenure, meaning even the meager growth was debt-driven, not organic growth.

A good friend once told me " It doesn't matter how good you think you are, there is always someone out there who is going to be faster, stronger and more skillful than you".

Trump has just experienced that, in a courtroom. He thought he was better than the law.

When you're in a hole, it's best to stop digging.

Is it strange. If banks were happy with the asset valuations and loans paid what's the issue here? If I say my deluxe renovated scooter is worth 100,000 baht and bank is ok with it then no issue. How much is an Elvis shirt worth? Whatever someone pays for it.

What matters is the declaration at the bottom of the form, directly above where the applicant signs their name.

It certainly is not, and it is only going to get worse for Trump.

His only hope is to get re-elected. He will go to jail if he is not. The odds against him being acquitted in ALL criminal trials are insurmountable.

A campaign for the Presidency takes money, lots of it.

Trump has raided the RNC's campaign kitty and PAC's to pay his legal bills, $55 million and counting. He's got more appeals going than a butcher has pork chops, and all of the lawyers are billing him in advance for services. It would take a truly dumb or desperate lawyer to trust him to pay. They have Rudy Giuliani as an example.

The large donors have all walked away, they can see the writing on the wall, and where their money is going. The remaining small donor rubes are not enough, and are probably exhausted by his constant dunning.

I don't understand your mindset. I do understand it is only a matter of time.
