Maybe one of the burger specialists here wants to explain this to me. How to eat a burger?

A long time ago, in a country far away, the only burgers were McDonald burgers.

I learned that to eat a burger you hold it with your left and right hands and eat it bite by bite.

But then, years later in Thailand, I ordered from time-to-time burgers in restaurants. And it seems many like to make their burgers in a size which is impossible to hold and eat with two hands. So ok, let's eat it on a plate. But how?

Layer by layer? Or cut it to 1/4 pieces or 1/8 pieces or how to do it?

What's the point of getting 5 layers if we have to separate the layers from each other to eat them?

Egg on a hamburger?  You must be from California.

Speaking as a lifelong Californian, we don't really do eggs on hamburgers as a general rule... That's more of a British thing.

Californians lean more toward burger accompaniments like fried onion rings, chili, sliced avocados, jalapenos, etc etc... Not necessarily all together on the same burger... although, the thought sounds pretty good!!!

Ah Galveston, Galveston my old stomping grounds. Guidos still there, pronounced GuyDohs

In the Italian parlance, wouldn't that sound more like "Gwee-dos"?

The burger scene in Bangkok has come a long way over the years, and is far better now with better quality and more variety than ever existed in the past... And I say that as being quite a long-time burger afficionado here...

I'm sure the Nana burger place is OK, but seriously doubt it's anywhere close to being the best burger in Bangkok, with all the other quality choices that are out there. Some of them people may know a bit, such as Prime Burger or Easy Burger, but a lot of the others are single location places turning out some really good burger fare.

The one thing that's missing -- at least in my experience thus far -- is anything remotely resembling a decent chili burger/chili cheese burger, which has long been one of my favorites. I've tried a couple lately from different places, and the chili has ended up being oddly dried out stuff not even remotely resembling actual chili con carne.

Texas pronounciation.

Why must every thing be served with a god damn egg on it ? When did this madness start?

Yea, Yanks don't, or didn't 24 yrs ago, put an egg on a burger, and I've never seen it even offered, anywhere in USA.  I still would never, and I thought it was an Aussie thing.

It is Aussie. Egg, bacon, pineapple and beetroot.

Not a British thing at all to put fried eggs on burgers. I was in Bangkok couple of weeks ago and that Nana burger is bloody lovely.

Yanks/Brits can't even do bacon right.

Correct, as stated below, no eggs offered 24 or even 18 yrs ago, from any vendor I visited, or even fashionable.

Last time there ... 2006 ... for a long weekend.  Had to pop in to personally pick up a check.  Hopefully never again need to return ... unless picking up a nice check, as that was worth sitting at airports & on planes for 60+hrs.

Best burger I've had in years was also in soi 4 recently at the Blarney Stone oppo Hillary 4. Chili cheese burger. Absolutely fantastic. Can't really tell from the pic but the patty is super thick and juicy, and the tater wedges are nice and crisp. A few onion rings on top and chili con carne spread around the plate and on the burger. Super heavy/filling meal. 460 bt. Not the cheapest, but the best.

Service could've been more attentive for customers sitting outside, and a half pint of barely chilled Guinness is an astronomic 190.....but other than that, glad I found this gem.

Fur burgers are by far the best burgers in Bangkok. You can find one almost anywhere.

Trump Burgers and Biden Burgers are both Nothing Burgers and are best avoided.

As long as you bring a crane and a backhoe to scoop it all up then you should probably be fine.

You are into drag and even then question presentation? Backhoes to scoop suggestions?  Is  "burger " a code name for something?

Love this perennial evergreen topic where KhunLa always rules with his photos.

If money is no object, the high end Gaucho steakhouse chain is at Manhattan  quality level. I eat so little red meat that I tend to start at 800 baht for a burger. It’s a big’un.

Kuching, Borneo report: Hilton fake waygu burger was a 500 baht burger for 800 baht. Painfully hot fries tho. Nothing is more disappointing than tepid fries with a burger.

When I lived in SoCal in the 90's, I thought it was a toss up between Carl's Jr and In 'n Out.  But Carl's Jr. may have changed in the hookup with Hardee's.  And I haven't been to any In 'n Out's in 20 years, though they are in Texas now.  Too far from the butt end of Galveston where I live.

I'm in Houston at the moment. I have to try Whataburger. Have you.
