A Saudi Arabian man, identified as Mr. Hamet, was apprehended in Patong on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) on May 2nd.

Patong Police announced they had established a checkpoint close to the Coconut Intersection on Ratch Uthit 200 Pi Road between 1:45 A.M. and 3:45 A.M.

Mr. Hamet, 29, drew their attention, and in testing, was found to have exceeded the legal alcohol limit in his breath test.

The test indicated a 0.112 milligrams percent of alcohol, an amount that surpasses the lawful cap of 0.50. Subsequently, the police escorted him to Patong Police Station to address the drunk driving accusation.

Mr. Hamet has yet to release a statement to the media regarding this incident.

A devout Muslim but so pissed I can't find east from west 🤔

Why are so many foreigners reported DUI when many Thais are never reported?

Do they only catch foreigners?

Another useless post.

For news about Thais misbehaving, you need to watch Thai TV or read Thai newspapers/online sites.

Not many foreigners are reported there.

Maybe if they test a few Thai drivers and not let them go after Tea Money payments then they could do something about the appalling road death toll in Thailand.

Public flogging for him just like in Saudi,

Haram is an Arabic term meaning 'forbidden'. This may refer to either something sacred to which access is not allowed to the people who are not in a state of purity or who are not initiated into the sacred knowledge; or, in direct contrast, to an evil and thus "sinful action that is forbidden to be done".

Hypocrite .........Will go back to the land of sand and be a good pious muslim..........until the next trip.

His Mullah won't be happy, nor will he having to lose some of his mula. (slang for money).

I was stupid enough to do it although only just over the limit, in court there were 14 of us, all the others were Thai, some received two week jail because not afford the fine. Most Thai I know think nothing of doing it.

I recommend going back to school and learn a little about math. 0.50 is 0.500 is 0.5000, or half a percent.

Since when 0.11 surpasses 0.50? BTW plenty of alcohol in Saudi Arabia. It’s where you go and who you are. Johnny Walker Black is the Royal’s favorite drink. Hypocrisy is rife there, so is Porn.

I'm pretty sure the word "milligrams" has no business being in that sentence. The sentence doesn't make sense on multiple levels. 0.112 is smaller than 0.50. The units are all over the place. He probably had an blood alcohol concentration of 0.112% and the legal limit is 0.05%.
