Pattaya — A naked homeless man was arrested in the early hours today after disturbing the public in Central Pattaya.

At 3:06 AM this morning, June 30th, Pattaya police were notified by concerned citizens about a nude man acting erratically while walking along Pattaya Central Road in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

 

Following the report, police coordinated with Pattaya City Special Services officers and rushed to the scene. They found a man, believed to be Thai and in his 30s or 40s, walking naked in front of a motorcycle shop near a traffic light intersection. The man’s nudity caused significant disruption among passing tourists.

Sadly there is a lot of mental health and illness concerns in Thailand. 

Minimum treatment and resources to help. 

Same autism diagnosis for younger people. 

My neighbours wife just says the kids retarded.

Arrested for no visible means of support... He needs a good feed by the look of it.

You know Pattaya... open all hours.

I witnessed something so bizarre that many years later I still doubt what I saw. I was walking along London's Oxford Street, and coming the opposite way was a totally naked man carrying what looked like a large advertising board by his side. And no-one was taking the slightest notice. It was like a tv skit to get peoples reaction, but I saw no cameras and no reaction. I'm still baffled by it.

 

A 'friend' has seen staged videos taken in Germany of a totally naked woman walking in a shopping street, with the same non-reaction. Maybe this chap just wanted to be a video star.

Where is the chaos?

Why should anyone be concerned with someone who's naked?

For those who have recently arrived from Europe their body would like it's a late evening stroll before bed. From America, an afternoon walk, until their body clock adjusts. 

so pathetic. What's the chaos of being naked and sitting peacefully somewhere? With all the terrible things going on in Thailand, the poverty, the corruption, the pollution, all many people can do is get worked up over a guy being naked. What a crazy place

Very much the wrong image for the family friendly international resort of Pattaya. 

I remember sitting in a taxi on the way to Cebu airport in the Philippines.  As we slowed down for the lights, a middle aged naked woman was walking between all the cars ranting about god knows what. 

. 

She looked like Worzel Gummidge but stark <deleted> naked.  Strange person.  Taxi driver said she's there everyday and everyone knows she's mad.

Exactly. Farang like doing the same, like this Brit sitting peacefully on Beach Rd. relaxing after a long journey from Heathrow.

 

 

Better that Thais in some ways, as it symbolizes the bankruptcy of the fabled Golden Egg Layers who built the entire Thai economy and the shift to new demographics.  

 

Yet when this photo came about a few years ago, members weren't nearly so liberal as they are with today's Thai man and had no issues about getting him off the street. Why is that?
