What to do when it's too hot in Bangkok?

Recommended Posts

It's never too hot to trot in BKK.

If you feel hot, then please turn on the AC.

If the AC don't work, then turn on your fan.

If the fan don't work, then sit on your balcony.

If no balcony, then just imagine yourself on the South Pole, freezing to death....like...

Scott and that other guy who died together...

Don't fear the heat.

Worse things could happen.

My AC is also new and working, and if I want to bring the temperature down below 20 degrees Celsius.

Maybe try a bigger AC or a better AC technician.

Yes.

I agree.

One should ALWAYS buy an AC with the capacity to lower the room temp to below 20, even in the hottest of weather.

For me and my bedroom, I can get the temp down to about 18 degrees C.

However, of course, this takes time

My bedroom AC has enough capacity that....if I were to turn it down to 16 degrees C, then the room goes to about 18.

Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night, freezing.

In the mornings, with the bedroom temp so low, 18, it's not easy to get out of bed knowing that one must brave the cold air in my bedroom.

In fact, during this Hot Season, I have never been so cold at night.

Good sleeping weather, though....

Service present or buy new AC that will work.  External shade your balcony and or windows/wall exposed to the sun.

As someone stated earlier, when hot out, I can make it chilly indoors, and usually is to my wife.  When she cries about how cold it is, I giver her my full length leather coat to wear.  Great exercise for her also, as probably weighs 25% of her weight :coffee1:

To the OP. Turn the air-con OFF. Bad for your health.

Open the windows and get a decent fan. Plenty on Lazada for 500 baht.

Always like seeing your pics from Isaan. But, in this case.....wondering how the wife and kid likes your way of thinking.

Fortunately Mrs Owl don't go to BKK very often.

It can get hot up here in Isaan, but we are mostly in the countryside.

As for the daughter. she is turning into a saver. While the wife is a spender.

I started out in Isaan for like 6 yrs as a part timer, near sakon, AC is most definitely needed, especially for sleeping. But, good on you.

I don't like air-con. It can cause health problems.

Nature is everywhere up here. In our soi this morning there were pigs, chickens, dogs, cats, snails and one cow. Buffs might be along later today.

This modern stuff, like air-con and mobile phones is simply no good for us humans. I often walk about the farm bare-footed. Get back to nature; I say.

Please suggest to me my condo is on the 33floor and it gets hot asf even tho my aircon is new and working

What's the total square meter size of your condo?  You need an AC with enough BTUs to cool 120% the size of your place so it won't be struggling during extreme heat waves.

Yes that's not a bad idea ,but for most people that would be too far Back and wouldn't be able to make it back there they wouldn't be able to survive.  🙏
