I agree, didn't look like he kicked her from the video... she just got up and walked away... I saw no kicking.

I agree, BUT he admitted it to the police, but claimed he stumbled into her.

I don’t know how he can be acquitted when there was video evidence of an assault.    That said - the acquittal does bring into question the validity of comments in other threads that us foreign

Must have been expensive to make that go away.

Did they find out how someone who runs an elephant sanctuary , which is for saving elephants and looking after them as far as I'm aware is able to pay a million bht a month rent for a villa 🤔

They will be all over this like a rash, if he manages to get control of the sanctuary again, it will be a whole new ball game regards to who gets what.

It's always good when you have some money aside. You can use to get out of the 😊👍of difficult situations in Thailand 🇹🇭

No or she would have dropped the case not needing the judges involvement. She has pushed consistently for his punishment and deportation.

Considering the sheer volume of dodgy things on Phuket it seemed petty at a minimum. Only in any way news because she was a 'Dr' and enough status to push it.

Ridiculous. Trust that he paid a lot to cover the truth. For what a video survey when nobody accept it. Another case of money corruption

As the Bangkok Post reports it is called giving him the benefit of the doubt - didn't he claim that the contact was accidental after he slipped while approaching her and that it was not a deliberate kick?

along with the accidental verbal abuse from him and the threats from his wife

Thailand justice system is the best justice was done video was unclear which resulted " insuffient "  what is clear " get the <deleted> out of here "  :cheesy:

What a miserable human being getting angry cause someone is just sitting. Whatever happen to just asking " can you not sit here " 🤧

This was always a minor offence at best overblown by the keyboard lawyers and politicians seeking to gain publicity.

Glad he won the case.

That said - the acquittal does bring into question the validity of comments in other threads that us foreigners are treated unequally….  This guy has received a very soft response from Thailands judiciary process.

I think many of us here who see someone attack someone horribly in this manner deserves a lot worse whatever their nationality.

We also have two-tier policing in the west. Coppers are very soft on certain foreigners.

Let's hope he still gets deported. Won't be so easy to buy off immigration.

I for one will not be losing any sleep over this conclusion

No doubt the Swiss guy will be relieved and continue his good life in the land of smiles  😀   💰

I do not suspect he paid the doctor. But the judges and the lawyers are a whole different story. Either way, it is a sad outcome.

It would seem just an exceptionally fair decision by the Thai courts, giving the benefit of the doubt.

So much for foreigners aren't treated fairly in Thailand.

Quite right, everybody is treated equally and fairly.

I'm not so sure. His visa has been revoked and i wouldn't be surprised if he were declared unwanted.

No Visa for  you !

ok he was wrong very wrong

she suffered what exactly

she very obviously  had no injuries

yes this guy behaved badly shame on him

As I said back when this incident first happened.

1) The video showed no evidence of any physical contact.

2) He was well within his rights to not want people trespassing on his garden.

What some people might not recall, or may not be aware of, is that his garden is open to the public beach with no fence to stop people wandering onto his lawn.
He reported that on several occasions he had come home to find groups of tourists (most likely Chinese) in his garden. He was understandably annoyed by this.  In his position I would have probably chased those two people off the steps as well.  It's perhaps unfortunate that all Asians have black hair, so it's not possible to tell if someone is Thai or Chinese.

Nothing he did was wrong, it was private property, and people should respect that.

And for those who will no doubt say "oh but the steps were illegally built on the beach".  Explain me how he was supposed to know that?  He rented the property in good faith and anyone renting a house like that would naturally assume the steps were legal, were part of the property and therefore private.

I think his 'wife' has police contacts/relation.........................as was reported elsewhere

Watching the video and his anger at the 2 women just sitting peacfully on the wooden platform, He shouts get off just <deleted> off <deleted> off. He claimed he slipped and kicked her/ but by his agressive nature not so sure. He appears to be a bully and horrible man  had it been some big russian men sitting there things would have been different.

Another stupid court decisision, more brown envelopes, should have been kicked out a total arshole

I wouldn't want peasants wandering into my garden or sitting on my steps.  Bully for you if you'd be ok with random people coming into your garden for a nose around.

As I recall, his private garden was actually public land.
