They can arrest foreigners quicker than Thai ladyboys or criminals...

Quite, it does seem that way, I wonder why?

How many times have we seen ladyboys steal neck chains from Indians, reported here on AN,

i have lost count, do they get 5 years in prison, I wonder?

  • I hope he is suitably punished with jail time... something he is unlikely to get back in the UK, unless the attacks could be linked to being racial!

  • As my earlier post, a spell in a jail would be appropriate first.

A British national finds himself in hot water after being caught on CCTV snatching jewellery from two unsuspecting tourists in Pattaya.

OMG, those criminal Brits once again hitting the news headlines in Thailand?

Send him to the Ukraine frontline to fight Putin.

Yes. Brits w/ tattoos should be denied entry. Problem solved.

And another thing... why is an Indian tourist wearing a 200k thb necklace anyway?

Not excusing the theft in any way but he must be a complete idiot as well.

I can't help but wonder if he paid "less", and that's the reported insurance value.

I have never needed their 'help' thankfully.

I have been a victim of their rampant criminality and corruption on several occasions though.

Most criminals in Thailand are foreigners? Gie yer head a shake, even you can't be that stupid.

This guy will probably have outstanding warrants in the UK. Hence the reason to try and delay his return home.

Truly amazing the number of people who have distinctive tattoos that do not understand the inconvenient qualities of being distinctive.

I would guess that LE has body art recognition software.

On the other hand he could have worn a shirt like everyone else.

Schmuck.

Really?

So you think criminals should be given a chance to fight instead of readily complying to the police?

That would be your idea of bravery?

Proper police work in that situation does not require a un-holstered firearm.

The suspect is obviously unarmed and clearly compliant.

No wonder there are scenes like the Belarussian guy in Phuket chasing the police all over the place. They are clueless and poorly trained.

Fair or not having tattoos can and often does carry a social stigma.

If nothing else it's certain that such folks crave attention. Nobody paints their skin unless they want to be noticed.

Why would there be a need to approach with a drawn gun, from behind, to a man who is on his kness, clearly surrendering ? Seems excessive and maybe that cop has an itch he wants to scratch as clearly the guy was no threat to him or anyone else.

Exactly my point.

An un-holstered firearm in that situation is dangerous and unnecessary.

That staying silent bit won't help you in Thailand, Jordon. Better to admit and get an automatic half off your sentence. Enjoy your prison term, dummy.

You are so wrong.

Many are exhibitionists but many more evidence much more discretion.

You could well be right. However, we don't know what happened prior to this event. Was he aggressive? Did he try to run? Why is he even outside?

It equally could well be that the suspect is complying as a result of the gun being drawn.

But I think we can agree that the discipline and safeguards restricting the conduct of armed police that you find in the UK do not apply here. As an example, I witnessed a motorcycle trying to flee the wrong way on the Ramkhamhaeng flyover in Bangkok. The police officer's response was to fire a warning shot in the air.

If there were any such, do tell how they compete with all the Brit thugs?

I suspect Jordan learnt this lesson from a very early age in the UK. Old habits die hard. But you are right, it won't help him here.

I'm speaking of large areas of skin. Not little bunnies or flowers.

They can't.

But we know that.

Hopefully this miserable lowlife receives the full five year prison term along with the 100,000 baht fine, and is then deported. The Bangkok Hilton should be beautiful this time of year.

Well, there is an immediate difference..........tends to avoid stereotyping if a distinction is made.

Bad way to spend your vacation. Why can't he just enjoy the booze and prostitution like a regular tourist?

You need to watch more Jason Statham movies.  Or more Equalizer, with Denzel...

Yes!  Most tattoos spawn from a underlying sense of worthlessness.  Many people feel that their tattoos give themselves worth but don't realize that self worth comes from the inside, and not from outer adornments. The same goes for nose, chin and boob jobs.
