Two foreign nationals have been fined following a drunken altercation with a Thai national motorcycle rider in Pattaya, which escalated into a street brawl.

The incident occurred when a delivery rider, was en route to deliver an order. A car, driven by two foreign men, reportedly grazed his motorcycle without causing a collision. Witnesses stated that the visibly intoxicated foreigners then threw a bag of rubbish from their vehicle, which struck the rider.

The rider approached the car, sounding his horn to confront the men about their behaviour. In response, one of the foreigners opened the car door and began shouting abuse. The driver soon joined in, leading to a heated verbal exchange.

The situation quickly turned violent, with both foreigners allegedly assaulting the 44-year-old rider, who sustained bruises and other minor injuries. Throughout the altercation, the men reportedly hurled insults at Thai people, despite the efforts of a Thai woman who tried to intervene.

As the fracas unfolded outside a convenience store, several bystanders, angered by the foreigners’ disrespectful behaviour, stepped in to assist the rider. Witnesses said the crowd retaliated, pushing and striking the tourists, who eventually fled into the shop seeking refuge.

Police from Pattaya City Police Station soon arrived at the scene. The foreigners, fearing for their safety, sought protection from officers and accused local residents of stealing their mobile phone.

Authorities successfully defused the situation and escorted all involved parties to the police station. The two tourists, whose names and nationality was not disclosed by authorities, were fined for disorderly conduct and agreed to pay 15,000 baht in compensation to the injured rider before being released.

Officials confirmed that no serious injuries were reported and that the case was resolved amicably without further escalation.

The worst thing about Thailand, the only fault Thailand has, is some of the foreigners.

I wonder why anybody would travel 10,000 kilometers just to end up in a street fracas in Pattaya.

It's almost as bad as travelling 10,000 kilometers and seeking election as chairman of the local bar complex pool league. :coffee1:

I wonder why names and nationalities were not disclosed. Brits and Israelis they give out no problem. Look at the vid and make your own mind up. I've got my thoughts.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from these tourists.

When will this ever stop ? Since covid the level of visitors to Thailand has gone down in the pan. They really do look down upon Thai people with their behaviour - as i have said numerous times, they would not behave like this in Singapore, Dubai or China, etc

You see the frustration from the Thai people against these lot.

Government really needs to take a good strong look at entry requirements. Will it? Of course not.

It's obvious which region they are from. The sheer arrogance of these two is astonishing. They are also seemlesly unaware of the danger they could be in, if a pack attack them. The fact he was grabbing his balls and actually looking on in arrogance was astonishing. Lucky for them the police was there or this would have gone very nasty.

He then directs the police man to arrest people saying he will pay 1 million, 2 million - i mean wtf. Why didn't the police start with arresting them? One of them has driven pissed. Unbelievable. This is what i mean by the police just afraid to say anything against tourists.

This soft approach by policing is causing alot of the poor behaviour - there is just no deterrant.

Yes I agree. It is obvious. Middle East IMO. Disgraceful behaviour.

Eventually.

Even when forced to do their job, RTP are as useful as chocolate teapots.  They stood meekly by as a mob took over proceedings invading the shop despite their ineffectual presence.

You don't read much here or have filtering glasses 🤣

Looks like not only the foreigners needed to be fined. :coffee1:

And still a chance they have a British, French, German or whatever passport.

A number of such subjects makes trouble going as French.

No tourists of French culture would behave like that....

Urban justice is usually the most effective, need more of it to deal with the unruly short/long term visitors.

My apologies. You seem to have not understood "no problem". By this I mean there is no problem giving out nationalities such as Brits and Israelis. Why have the nationalities in this case been withheld.

Ok. Indeed a misunderstanding.

Thailand develops in a direction like Germany where certain nationalities are taboo to mention.

Was just protecting himself, knowing the way Thais fight he is a wise man.

maybe that's the reason the thais have decided to take matters into their own hands by attacking tourists in packs rather than relying on police.

I don't make stupid comments, but your constant trashing of foreigners, especially seeing you are a foreigner, looks very suspicious to members here, but being of that type of mindset,  you might not understand.

Yeah, and the fact that we are foreigners and have developed a bad taste for trashy foreigner, must mean they are many. Too many. We simply just want then out, and stop beating over and over again on the good foreigners reputation in Thailand. Maybe you are unable to notice, but during the last 10 years, a higher level of anti-foreigner attitude have developed among the Thai people. That we can thank all the low life  coming here and believe they are bigger than everyone and can do and behave like they want. But, that is something that you might not understand.
