Anyone bought a (decent) office chair from Lazada?

Featured Replies

There are a lot to offer on Lazada priced from 1000-3000 Baht, but the photos are often a little deceptive of the quality. I'm too lazy to go looking in Index or Home Pro, so any reports on what chair they bought from Lazada would be good.

I did, but it's a little over your price range...

There were PU and real leather (cowhide) options when buying and I got the cowhide one. PU doesn't last very long and I've had several, including "real leather" from a very famous Thai furniture company... fell apart after less than a year... cracks started forming on "leather" and flaking off. Disappointing.

This one is very decently built and comfortable. Still in perfect shape after over 2 years.

I've had the PU one for over 10 years, had the padded arms re-upholstered a couple of times, but that's it. Cost about 2500 baht fro Thai Watsadu.

I spent A LOT of time looking on Lazada. And these were the brands you can buy very good quality chairs from at Lazada:

Tozient

Ergotrend

Ergomax

Newtral

Xpanse

Sihoo Doro

Nubwo

Dreamdesk

Bewell

Moderna

Musso

The genuinely good options begin at 5,000, but if you make design compromises then 3,000 baht is possible. For example, if it doesn't offer decent control on neck support or back support then 3,000 is possible.

Consider these factors and ask yourself what you will compromise on:

•height capability

•lumbar support

•spring on lumbar support

•neck rest with control

•backrest height control

•cushion support

•seat control

Why anyone would want a leather chair in this hot climate escapes me. The breathable mesh chairs are much more comfortable.

I bought one from Lazada last year, about 2,500 Baht and it looked very comfortable in the photos. It arrived from China and turned out to be a complete piece of excrement. Very cheaply made, plastic instead of fabric, and the wrong colour. Thank Buddha for that last one as it gave me the excuse to return it and get a full refund. I'll never buy a chair again online, you really need to see them in person and try them out before buying.

No one should need to look at money and the price that much. A good chair, is essential to maintain good health. I would never buy an office chair under 15k.

No way I was going to trust that to a photo or someone else's review on Lazada.

Frankly, the vast majority of stuff flogged on Lazada is absolute rubbish.

Office chairs, a desk, electric fans, thumb drives are just a few of the examples of stuff I have foolishly bought from them in the last few months, which have either fallen apart or just don't work. In particular thumb drives which will only hold a fraction of their advertised capacity!

The trouble is, I am a cripple, fairly immobile, live a fair way out of town and can no longer drive a car (bizarrely they took my car license away for medical reasons but let me keep my motorcycle license!); that together with being a bit of a "Pollyanna" when it comes to online shopping, which doesn't help!

Buy from the official manufacturers stores and you won't have a problem.

I'm tending to agree after reading some of the reviews on Lazada from people who have bought chairs. The photos can be very deceptive of the quality,.

Many of the chairs in officemate can be purchased on Lazada and they are all POS.

I don't do so much work now, but before and during Covid, I was spending 12-16 hours at my desk. The work was such that I couldn’t move for the duration apart from 5 mins toilet breaks. I thought spending 3k down at officemate was the key but the padding went, the fake leather split, bars running in the seat appeared. It was painful to do my shift, some days I was close to tears, constantly moving to find comfort. I bought some similar chairs from Lazada, but they were equally as bad, basically the same as chairs as officemate but cheaper. In the end I bought an ikea Markus - still going strong, I really like it, a little beyond your budget, but way better than anything else I tried.

I like soft padded arms and the Ikea chair doesn't appear to have them. The one I have (vinyl)  cost me less than 3000 baht from a large hardware store and it's lasted me 10 years, so can't complain.

Yes, correct - sorry about that - Im just saying, I wouldn't recommend either officemate or Lazada, they are all the worst Chinese made chairs with different labels and price tags, they look the part, but really aren't. Good luck with your search.

After going thru 4 or 5 office chairs that would eventually break down and have to be replaced, I bought an Anda Seat about 5 years ago.  They are actually considered a gaming chair.  It's still as good as the 1st day I used it.  More expensive than the typical office chairs but as far as I'm concerned, it was the best money I ever spent.  You can find them in stores such as Central or Power Buy to see if you like.

Avoid buying junk, as you'll end up replacing it repeatedly.

Buy a quality chair like Secretlab.  Just enter Secretlab chair into the search box.  Sometimes you get what you pay for.

I bought one from HomePro named "SURE".

Looks good , seats good but it wiggles a bit.

Also the plastic wheels have trouble when the tiles

edges are not 100 % flat.

I would not buy from lazada , you have at least sit in it to test.

Don't buy this one. ฿380 and supposedly rated for 800kg. Collapsed when my 75kg fat wife sat on it for a few days.

The chair I'm talking about is a gaming chair. TTRacing Thailand has a selection of cheap to pricey chairs. I have 2 of them (fabric and PU), and no problems yet. I got the Max version because it has a type 4 hydraulics for my weight.

I've had two of these (I'm sitting on one now, the other is in my house in England).  Both are many years old but look like new.

Mine are black leather but it looks like only cloth-covered cushions are available here in Thailand.  Good quality, very comfortable.  It's one of Ikea's best sellers.  4,990 baht.

Does IKEA ship everywhere in Thailand?

I got one from there a couple of years back and almost exactly a year after owning it the entire faux leather coating started to disintegrate and fall off. Made a hell of a mess, had to take it outside with a stiff brush. Mechanically it's still sound and comfortable but it needs something to cover it. Interestingly I subsequently saw the exact same model in an even worse state, last year I noticed a shop owner had one and every square inch of the black coating had gone.

Mine was absolute garbage, cost around 1000Bt, and was not even the one I ordered. Just be very careful of ordering one of these chairs.

Indeed, personally I like the Aeron by Herman Miller - you can order them online and they ship they via Fedex from Pergo Thailand.

This is considered a reasonably high end office chair.

Not cheap though 😂

Had one of these back home and needed to rebuy it when I came here.

If you have back or hip issues I highly advise investing in something good

Excellent choice.  You're a gentleman of distinguished taste 🙂

Funny story...when I ordered my HM I kinda expected it to be delivered like all my other furniture back home was...with the store branded delivery truck coming and unloading in front of your home.  So I was sitting there waiting for the Chanintr truck to come like a kid waiting for the ice cream man

A pickup truck with a husband and wife pulled up, unboxed it in the parking lot, gave it to me and took a photo of me standing there with it.  So ya, I had to wheel a 700 dollar chair thru my parking lot and up 3 floors.

most anti-climactic delivery of my life
