  • I would say no problem. How would they know unless you are aging very rapidly?

  • Photo in passport can be up to 10 years old. Just saying.

  • Bt100 for a photo? I just had to get a new lot for Non-B and WP. Bt170 for a dozen. Good for years.

Frankly, I have never understood the "bring two photos" thing. In Udon Thani when one goes for an extension of stay, the officer takes all of the info on one's application form and transfers it to a form on their computer, then they take a photo of you and superimpose that on their computer-generated form. In my case, they took my photos off of my application form and threw them in the garbage. My theory is that they want to make sure that the person in the photo is the same as the one sitting in front of them, and since the photo in their passport may be as old as 10 years, the newer photo helps them to confirm that you are who you say you are in order to cut down on fraud. After all, some races say that members of other races all look the same anyway!

If you look the same it's probably no problem. I use the same photo for 4 years when doing my extension of stay – I get 4 copies when a phboto is taken, even when I use immigration's own photo service. Since I don't change my life-style and how I look often, I get away with this photo-budget planning...

They did question my picture once, I guess the Bay City Roller tartan suit was the give away or it could have been the polkadot Kipper tie. 🤣😂

Don't worry. They are not critical about the freshness of your ID photos.  Being older than  6 months old can be quite OK.

Not like the passport application/renewal back home.

5THB maximum.  Take your own photo, use a white background and have someone take your pic, as you would for a PP photo.

Make a picture collage, one sheet printed with multiple photos for visa extension. Take to print shop, send them the collage pic in email, print, 5 baht.

But use a photo older than 6 months if it still looks match.  5 years old, probably not but under a year for me is safe.

100 thb for 4/5 photos if I am not wrong. I just bored to spend money just for add one photo on the TM 7 paper

It's not 100 in BKK. More like 140. Consider also you need one and not 6 8 or 12

I'm uncertain whether she actually caught me out but when I went for my visa extension and annual O she asked if my photo was recent. It wasn't - as you I was just tired of paying 140b for one photo.

I recall using a number of photos a second time around. I think my luck just ran out.

* I don't recall the photo but I don't believe I looked much if any different. They very well might have the photos in the db

They want a proper photo and not off a printer in BKK. I do recall using a printed photo once. That vendor is no longer in business downside at CW

Been using the same "Family" photo's for the last 3 years the ones immigration so love to have us take in our bedrooms, kitchens, shower and toilet, "Just for a "Larf" (They like to make sure the alien maintains an immaculate wardrobe and sock drawer.

Many people do not change that much, but sometimes I update them and up to you.

I have used the same photo, one year even printed it on the form.. They still took their own pic and printed it on the form they printed.

There really isnt any way to tell how old the pic is.

By repetition on their system, same shirt.........😋

I've been getting new photos for each extension, never even thought to try and use the old ones. I'll give it a go next year, if it works that's an extra 100 baht in my pocket. Can get an English breakfast for that in Pattaya. Or a couple of beers at happy hour 🤣

If it doesn't, a real pain in the ass over peanuts.........🤔

I used a 1 year old photo for an extension once. The IO said . New photo next time. It's all on the computer in front of them.

I'm still waiting for someone to notice that my passport photo is a selfie (my error).  Got away with it for 5 years so far, I must be symmetrical.

Yeah, it doesn't matter how old the photo you put on your application is. Nobody ever looks at it. They take your picture when they process the application. At least, they do here in Nakhorn Sawan.

I bet your picture on Thai Friendly is over 6 years old, so a 6-month old pic for a visa shouldn't be a problem.

That would be okay as long as you haven't used the same photo before. Otherwise, how would they know how old it was?

At most professional photo shops in CM (there's many) a set of six photos, correct size, following all the rules published by most countries about correct framing, no hair covering / partly covering an eye, no full smile, straight on to camera, no side view at all etc etc., for 120Baht. All completed in 20 minutes.

My wording was misunderstood by some

A passport can be up to 10 years old incl the photo that it shows.

So what would the problem be with a 6 month old.

Of course for a new passport many countries don't even allow to bring own photos but taken at the office or by licensed photographers and sent digitally.

Reason simple: you can slightly manipulate photos so that it is not detected by the naked eye but changes biometric parameters.

Maybe there's a date embedded but not seen in some photo formats?

For my first non-O visa nine years ago, I made about 20 passport photo copies at immigration. I still use them today for any kind of official business...no problem!

yes, I am thinking to do like that. I will just cut my hair and i will wear same top haha. And i didn't change at all from last photo. I think it might work fine but who knows if they might figure it out from the previous extension haha

You are planning a 30 day extension to a SETV.

Immigration will almost 100% not be interested in age of photo.

Or you can pay 100b for four instant photos.

Nonsense thread.
