In my opinion, the beginning of the decline was when the Thaivisa app was discontinued. In a world where most people conduct their daily social media activities on mobile devices, and specifically on dedicated apps (not in browsers), this was an absurd decision. Now the forum is dedicated to a group of fossils who are slowly dying out.

At times there is useful information, especially original news and information posts from moderators, etc.   Thank you very much.

 

Unfortunately, there is also a lot of "fake news and misinformation".

Information threads seem roughly about the same to me in the 20 or so years on and off I have visited this site formerly known as ThaiVisa.  A lot of articles still disproportionately targeting Westerners, sometimes just for ones who farted loudly in public and caused 'outrage'. Actually what I have noticed is way more liberal types have invaded the forums, bring back the grumpy old man's club (shoutout to Glitterman for that label), at least when they weren't grumpy they could be decent, unlike liberals who are permanently unlikable.

This thread is exactly what this forum has become with the usual posters.

It used to be more picture sharing of travelling, building, farming, food, cooking, motorbikes, and general curiosity about everything.

 

You could actually find travel reports and pictures without negative comments, and accusing of showing off. 

 

Well most back then where closer to 60 than 80.

Interesting. How about the multiple daily new threads complaining about the "bad orange man". If those who have Trump living rent free in their heads 24/7 didn't continuously start threads or for some reason blame Trump for everything my guess is we would see a lot less bickering.

It's quite ridiculous. Biden was president (in body) for 4 years, but all we heard about for those years was Trump, and now that he is president, that same mob has redoubled their efforts.
