I do not favor one above the other, but I have equally as many westerns as asians as friends in Thailand. I know many, but there is very few I would call friends.

Actually AN hasn't changed, as thought it sucked as TV, and was a member, but think I post <20 times, way back when.  Didn't realize AN was TV, or I wouldn't have bothered.  TBH ... not sure how long I'll last.  Not sure I'll make the 4 yr mark, to update BEV & Solar thread, as lost interest there also.   Why I joined to begin with.

 

Except for past couple days, I haven't posted much, and only because 2 members really enjoy repeating themselves but state nothing new.   For some reason, I replied to them.

Was forr a long holiday since COVID, and back recently... wasn't smart...

 

Should probable restrict myself to health/finance/immigration/etc.. but even there the MAGA disease crops up.

Actually I am not so much disabled, as old and my body cannot do what it used to do 20, 10 or even 6 years ago. I find it very hard to cut the grass and scrub now, and lifting things that are over 20kg is not easy any more.

 

I use a stick when I walk though I can manage 20 metres without using the walking stick except for steps where I use it as a lever, and for balance.

 

I can usually manage steps provided that there is a handrail, going up slopes is difficult and going down the same slope is a lot harder.

 

Fortunately I live in rural Thailand and most of the Thais are very helpful if I get stuck. They hold open doors for me, and some even stop the traffic when I cross the road.

 

Mostly as I get older I tend to adapt the things that I used to do to make it easier for me.

 

Whilst I cab still drive, I only drive the pickup and only for a maximum of 15km. With motorbikes and scooters I have a balance problem.

Most of bickering is done on Trump threads, over 50% of those threads are started by non Americans.

You are not wrong, but it is the same grumpy Thai hating bigots that have found a voice with their red hat leader.

The real concern is that the new format is pandering more for clicks that before, so there are more dubious posts that are not needed except as click-bait.

It's easy enough to avoid the troll threads.  The ones that bother me are when posters ask legitimate questions and get a wide variety of conflicting answers, with those only being interspersed between the petty flame wars.

I totally agree with the OP.  And there should be a limit on how many articles one can post in a day or week.  Take @BLMFem for example.  It reposts several articles all day everyday.  It just searches anti-Trump articles all day, then it reposts them here.  That thing must spend every minute of every day just full of anger.
