Woman Dies After Brit’s Stunt Crash in Pattaya

It seems every time I get in my car and drive in Pattaya I see idiot foreign motorbike riders. They drive just as insanely as the Thais. Weaving in and out of traffic, passing with a double yellow line, driving through red lights. They are just as guilty as this Brit guy.

Not victim blaming in any way but it would be good to know if she was wearing a helmet.

  • This reads like it's  harsher penalties for Farang and less so for Thai?. so if i Thai rider kills a Foreigner / Tourist  & pleads " no have money" for compensation then its ok..

  • With the ladys death his bail will most likely be revoked and he will be locked up until a whole lot of money is payed to the girls family.....I certainly hope his family is well off....If not....He i

That's why they came here, they enjoy the lawless society.

RIP, lady.

Also, the thing is, such incidents reflect badly on all of us foreigners, and might lead to various negativities for us. I know that we will say that people shouldn't generalise, but sadly many do.

This incident especially is a serious one, as it has led to  a death.

something I have been trying to highlight about all the dopeheads doing this on Jomtien beach road

I understand your frustration Sir, have tried myself for years to highlight same issue to the  alcoholics, who btw far outnumber dopeheads, without any result at all

Wow, what an original answer, what has that got to do with dopeheads pulling wheelies at 6, 7,8,9am ..I won't go over this tired subject again

So your argument is destroyed.

Nowhere near the top of the list.

So you can take your racist comments and generalisations and shove them.

Well, your statistic reading skills are amazing😂. You shoot yourself in your foot🤣.

Unlawful doesn't mean imprisoned. You didn't know that?

End of conversation with you 🥳

We’re still moving to Thailand. But, every egregious act I see reported here is being done by a-hole expats in Pattaya or Phuket, two locations we will do our best to avoid. We have been to Thailand, wonderful people. But, damn, it seems to attract some real idiots.
I feel bad for this woman’s family.

Not much of a surprise that Brits are the majority of unlawful behavior in their home country. They do outnumber the rest by a fair margin.

I appreciate your sharp mind 👍

22.6 million...... so not everyone.

Yes… The UK has a system where people are taxed approximately 10% of their earnings and then don’t have to pay for medical expenses even If they have a procedure that costs many thousands and don’t end up bankrupt or have to worry about private health insurance and the payout limits on one… That’s called caring about your citizens instead of robbing them to keep the Conglomerates happy…

I truly hope they lock this complete idiot up for the rest of his life he's showing off and ends up killing some poor women because of his doing I have no compassion for this tool let him rot in the BKK Hilton.

My point is alcoholics pull wheelies too which is far more dangerous than "dopeheads" [assume weed lovers are covered by that term or???

of course they also have to pay, but not that much.

Hardly murder unless he rode into the poor lady with intent to kill her. The most likely charge will be causing her death through negligence which carries a particularly severe penalty of up to 14 years in prison.

Dangerous driving causing death would be the charge.,,, same as Khun Boss.

I have never heard reference to a passport being "flagged" before. Also, his identity still remains a mystery.

"As of now, police have not provided any update to the public on legal proceedings against the foreign motorcyclist."

Accordingly, Thaiger is reporting the online speculation that he has already left the country.

That absolutely is victim blaming. To even raise the helmet question while a woman has just been killed is vile. The crash report will state her injuries—that’s where that information belongs, not in some casual comment that shifts attention away from the reckless foreigner who caused her death. Suggesting her life might have been “mitigated” if she wore a helmet is a way of softening the responsibility of the killer.
The real issue here is Thailand’s failure to control foreigners who think “freedom” means acting without responsibility—driving drunk, driving without a proper licence, IDP, or insurance, and putting others’ lives at risk. Those are the questions that matter, not whether the victim had a helmet on.

really? How have tyou quantified that stement?

If mummy and daddy are independently wealthy he might be able to buy his way out of it as TIT.
Otherwise?  Do stupid stunts, go to prison.  While in prison he can work on a book and become the poster-child for why doing stupid stuff that risks others life is a bad idea.

Tripled-tiered justice.
One tier for Thais.
One tier for foreigners.
One tier for the obscenely wealthy.

How have you managed to type that statement?🙄

Well, you reap what you sow... and if you want to do this nonsense here, then you are asking for it. Just the usual entitled moron thinking Thailand is a payground with no consequeces.

As for the deluded poster earlier that said he has never seen a Thai guy do a wheelie on the road... must be living a very sheltered life far removed from reality and long bereft of understanding of Thailand's youth.

And thoroughly deserves what's coming... hope he enjoys the next 10 + years in a cell

I understand your complete disgust at his actions and I understand your emotional response.

The fact is nobody spends "10 + years in a cell" for this crime in Thailand. Thai or foreigner, you pay compensation and do very little time. If you have no money, you do a couple of years.

I totally understand that causing death by dangerous driving will get you 8 to 10 years in the UK. But this is Thailand, not the UK or any other Western nation. And causing death by dangerous driving is not taken particularly seriously here.

I do not think this is the right path but this is the way things are done here.

He will be home well before Christmas.

What a cunning stunt ...

Should ban Brits travelling, in Da Nang now seen 2 incidents, both Brits.

That is simply not true. There are protocols in place, in Thai law which govern compensation awards and punishments, ordered by the courts.

And before anyone starts about the Red Bull gimp, he has not been arrested or put in front of the courts - that is down to corruption.

man had already been facing significant charges relating to reckless driving and endangerment

So free then to recommit charges but now someone dies.

Well done RTP.

Just got to look on YouTube, very popular doing these stunts, love it when they fall off though
