Where have they all come from?

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

In the last couple of months there has been a huge increase in the presence of "Federal Law Enforcement Agents" on the streets of the USA, or more accurately the streets of areas which do not perhaps follow the particular agenda of the current administration.

They are distinguished by almost complete "racial homogeneity" - put bluntly almost all white males - ad hoc equipment which seems to suggest that they have largely provided their own kit, no badges, no uniforms, unmarked vehicles, masks of course, and behave in a way that suggests no knowledge of the law or police training. Many do not seem to have undergone any sort of physical training and from time to time have been caught both making comments which betray political motivations and engaging in open racial brutality.

One can't help but wonder where this sudden increase in available manpower has come from, it is difficult not to imagine a "levée en masse" of right wing militias.

Something is very very wrong when you can be stopped, interrogated, arrested by unidentified goons.

No need to identify themselves, No ID, No Miranda Rights etc.

Appears George Orwell may have been right

Rather obviously I am in Thailand so can't verify, hence my questioning.

Ah,...so it's MSNBC, the more "fauxy" media outlet saying so. Anything on CNN yet?

The video is the video. What does it matter where it is shown? Thugs in plain clothes, masks, no ID - just as the OP said.

I originally saw the video posted by the guy who uploaded it, but searching for it the first link I found was that one. What difference does it make where the video is hosted?

Media bias is quite important. As you say, the video is the video and it's undeniable what happened. However, it's the narrative and opinion that comes with the video that is more relevant.

I would be surprised if CNN haven't already covered this.

BTW, neither of these two videos portray much of the frothy claims the OP is making in his second paragraph.

Not so much. There is a profiling suit already filed.

Ridiculous uneducated statements like this breed misinformation and trouble.

Cult member bias is even more disturbing, particularly when combined with blatant Russian lies.

Hard to blame federal agents for wanting to remain incognito. People find out who they are, then post their home address on social media, putting their families at risk.

Once again, the mistaken belief that if you question the mainstream media, you MUST be a Trump cultist and that mainstream media is honest and truthful.

You lot are getting as bad, if not worse, than the ones that you allow to rent so much space between your ears.

Don't they just? It's almost as bad as claiming that the Hispanic males crossing the Rio Grande are ALL rapists and murderers. Now who would do a thing like that?

Correct, only the white-is-right conservatives are allowed to do that sort of thing.

Wow hey you seem to know more than i do. Wait, do you live here? Oh wait…have you ever even been here once?

Kinda like the ones that raided Mar a Lago...

They're going to regret committing those crimes in Florida, where they'll find an impartial grand jury and jury.

You're thinking too much.

However - what I don't like.  Hiding badges, refusing identification, wearing balaclava.  You're worried about "right wing militias?"  I'm worried about the type of behavior that exemplifies totalitarianism, whether that totalitarianism is far-left or far-right.  When do US Citizens begin to get black-bagged and made to disappear off of the street.  US Citizens have already been arrested in ICE raids. A half dozen US constitutional protections have been thrown out the window.

I'm not against the arrest and deportation of those who entered the US illegally. We live in a country (Thailand) which does not allow illegal immigrants to stay and work, and if you are here in Thailand legally and are hammering the United States because it finally is tossing out those who crossed into the country illegally to work - or commit crimes - well, you're then an unbridled hypocrite.  However, the entire US Immigration System is broken, and I'll posit that it is broken by design and that refusal to fix it properly is supported by both the Democrats and Republicans for their own purposes. I would like it to be fixed and I'd like to see those people seeking a legal avenue to enter and work in the US to have a way to do so - legally. And for this new look for ICE?  It's gotta end.  Constitutional protections are based on Due Process, and sweeping up people off of the street by federal agents who have no proper identification and who hide their identity is a step toward the ugliness of open totalitarianism.
