Buying a new Samsung phone soon

Why people buy Apple is crazy.....and unknown.

How many Apple devices have you owned? over 20 here with 11 in use now (for the family 4 Ipads, 3 Iphones, 2 Apple watches, Macbook air, Mackbook Pro) beautiful integration, Apple care rocks, have tried Samsung, ditched after 6 months on both occasions.

Sadly I couldn't convince wife and daughter to ditch Windows so I have a few of those. Dell laptops just suck compare to Macs. But my Asus TV box will be replaced by a Mac mini soon.

Now, I am using this stuff, not benchmarking. And every time I looked at prices I couldn't find the motivation to leave an ecosystem that gives me such a high level of satisfaction.

Ditch the Samsung, time to move on

Samsung is on the decline, maybe because quality has gone down, perhaps caused my moving production to other countries. My AC binned, phone binned, I loathe my Samsung TV, looking forward to it dying

OMG..... the Ecosystem ROLL EYES

The Ecosystem is just a word made up by apple fan boys admitting they have no clue how to use technology.

Question for you. Do you have experience with any android flagships specifically Note or nowadays called ultra? Crapple could never release a high end phone like this. You are a part of the cult.

Whatever you decide, I'd say do NOT get a Samsung S22 Ultra. I have never hated a phone as much as I do the one I have (which will get replaced my next visit to the states). It weighs a ton, is VERY slow reacting to any input, and you have to hold down TWO buttons simultaneously to turn it off, which, if you do it wrong, merely turns off the volume. To say it sucks is a giant understatement.

In the past, in spite of its rampant greed, and authoritarian, dictatorial nature, from the very CORE out, Apple has been able to attract fool, upon fool, to continue to buy Apple products, even though they are now obviously no-longer innovative, and overpriced by 40-percent, compared to Apple products of 8 years ago.

It's the blind leading the blind who continue to buy, and who are impervious to outrageous price increases during the past 6 years.

But, all this is changing, even if it might be too late for you.

Apple is losing BIG TIME, and even the Chinese will stop buying as soon as they become educated, and realize that the styling on Apple products is nothing but lipstick on a pig.

The Chinese are used to authoritarian rule, but the world is changing.

So, I am not a fool, that I should buy Apple products, to answer your question.

I recommend going to a Samsung store so you can actually try the phone and feel it in your hands before buying it.  Samsung makes very fine phones and I've been happy with them for many years now.  Also, they will set it up for you, install the latest software, do the configuration and transfer all your data, apps contacts, messages, etc. from your old phone.

When I went to a Samsung store in Chiang Mai, at a mall, I learned that it was not a Samsung store.

It is not owned by Samsung.

I would never buy from one of those stores with the BIG WHITE LETTERING, SAMSUNG, but the one I bought from turned out to be NOT owned by Samsung company.

BIG MISTAKE.

Next time, if there is a next time, I would probably buy from some place like JIB computers.

I like the sales  person at the Chiang Mai store.

Smart and knowledgeable, which is the opposite of my takeaway at the mall.

I too have a A71. Just after the warranty 1 year the screen went blank. Got it replaced, at a cost, by Samsung, and its working still. But, just over a year ago, when I visited Australia there was an offer that I could not let go, and bought an A55 5G.

Now both are working fine and use the A71 as a secondary to watch films etc.

Watch this, the conclusion is what I said..

And the Iphone is USD 100 cheaper...Which discredits everything that's been said here on this Apple hater thread..

One must be a bit deranged..

I'm 20 months into owning a cheapo A05s and happy as a clam with it.

Still looks brand new.  Battery still lasts all day.  Even on my red eye monthly flights to LOS, I get 2 days out of the battery as long as I use my tablet for in flight videos.

As of today, if it went tits up, I'd replace it with their A16 because the cheapo A06 has lower screen resolution.  For my purposes, I can't see paying extra for the A16 5G because I can't see where 5G cellular makes any sense with reasonably priced voice/data plans.  And I can't see anything in their premium S lineup that's worth the extra money to me.  Of course, YMMV.

I've strayed away from Samsung a couple of times since my first smartphone (an S2), but I've always come back because of the reliable OS and ease of getting them serviced in Thailand.  I had a Motorola I was happy with when I lived in the USA, but couldn't find a battery for it in LOS.  Like Samsungs, it had a solid OS.

What is deranged is to buy a massively inferior product like the Apple phone, when even Chinese Android phones are now vastly superior to the Apple flagship in many aspects.

After making cityscapes around the world uglier with all of those 5G towers, I also see no benefit in paying extra for a phone to get the 5G. Maybe someone could explain ...

I remember my first 5lb bag phone that cost me $2,000 USD and I paid out the wazoo monthly and then another charge per minute.  That was the price for being on the bleeding edge, at around 56K speed.

I get the sense that's where we are with 5G cellular.  Last I looked (a few months ago), data plans that could take advantage of 5G speed without GB limits and/or severe throttling were in the range of 10x the cost of a standard 4G plan  And like every other cell service, I expect the price of the service will come down after the new has worn off and competition increases, uglifying even more cityscapes.

Then people will be able to stream HD movies on their phones without buffering or wifi.  For now, it's just too expensive for this fat boy.

Only pagans and democrats still buy Apple phones

The Vivo Xfold 5 Pro or the Xiaomi 15 Ultra are currenly the best candidates for best phone money can buy.

But I'm also stuck in the Samsung Ecosystem. How can I own a Samsung Smartwatch, TV, tablet, ear buds and then get a Vivo? It would be strange.

I myself dont use one, but know that more than 50% of Americans are using an I phone with the number of university students even higher. So throw that theory out the window Nicky.

If I had to buy another phone, if I lost my A55...then I would be a fool to buy the A56.

The A55 has 12GB of RAM....

And A55 has 256GB of storage....

And, A55 has removable microSD card with expandable storage.  (not available in A56)

A55 is a much better more versatile phone.

So, I will not change the A55 for another phone before I die, two decades from now.

I would never buy the overpriced GARBAGE Apple is offering to their Chinese customers, mostly.

The A55 is a good phone with battery life longer than the A56, so it has been reported.

However, the only thing I would improve is the volume of phone calls.... I think the A55 volume is not as loud as my NOTE4.

Agree about the A55.  Bought one for the Missus, added a 1TB SD card to save all her photos and videos (she does not like cloud storage).

It's weatherproof, has good cameras, fast enough to not have any lag, good screen.  Battery easily last a full day of heavy use.

No wireless charging or fast charging though, but not a big deal breaker.

Yes.

We are.

Let us also consider the reasons why Samsung (Android) products are so much better than Apple products.

The video I attached speaks DIRECTLY to this important issue.

We are talking about issues such as the fact that Apple is now falling short, and falling flat on its face, in terms of innovation, as well as the fact that Apple Corp is riddled with CONTROL FREAKS, whose goal is to ring out every last dime from consumers who do not care about their right to freedom to use apps as they choose.

Also, for developers, Apple is NOT the best platform.

What can I say?

I just tell the truth.....

Just as did our most famous president...

Abraham Lincoln.

If only Apple were as committed to Honesty, as our 16th president, instead of sticking it to the consumer in every which-way, then Apple could be great again.

But, of course, Apple products were never designed to give the user an unfettered experience.

JOBS was all about CONTROL.....

And, the famous Apple Ad was full of hypocrisy and very misleading....you know the one....

Apple's Big Brother ad....

What TOTAL hypocrisy.

image.png.1dc30f0c5ce7d44b2f000b8b7a8d2175.png

And, total HOGWASH....

I know that there are many on this forum who agree with me, and even on this thread, too....!!!

The A55 is amazing for the price....TRULY....

The glass is Victus Plus, even.

Not sure how I got so lucky to have been switching phones just at the exact time when Samsung Thailand offered this phone at a special slightly reduced  price, with HUGE upgrade in RAM and 256GB of storage.

This was a super deal.

What kind of "care" do your phones need? I use Samsung since a long time. At the moment I have Samsung S23 Ultra, Ultra Watch, TV and Soundbar. I, or better my devices, never needed any "care". They all work as they should.

To the OP, A56 is a good choice and you will be happy with it. Maybe wait till the 4. September, there will be a Samsung event. AFAIK mostly about the new tablets, but you never know if a special is turning up in the phone segment.

Btw. The Galaxy Edge could be a good choice too. Light and small and the same processor as the Ultra. 7 years of updates and you get it now for around 24000 Baht or less (well in Switzerland you do). No idea how much it is in Thailand.

I'll probably buy on Lazada from a trusted seller as that's been fine for before.

I will not buy from Lazada. I have seen several friends were burned on Lazada phone purchases. I will buy from a shop at tukum. At least you can go there and complain and demand for them to fix it if something goes wrong.

I personally only buy the Samsung Galaxy S's.  I need a phone to work worldwide, not just in Thailand or wherever.  The A's don't support all the worldwide frequencies that the S's do.  An A that you buy in the US/Canada won't work with all the frequencies in Thailand/PI/Vietnam etc. and vice versa.  If you are lucky it will work with enough of them to get by, but no guarantee.  If you only plan to use it in the region you bought it then not an issue.

I also don't like the bigger screen all the A's have.  The Galaxy S22, 23, 24, and 25 is the perfect screen size for me.  Any bigger and it's too bulky for my hand/pocket/man purse.

I haven't been keeping up with the latest A's but they did not have eSIM last time I checked.  That was another reason I went with an S.  I think the latest model A's come with that now.

Yes they have esims now.

The main reason I might consider an S is to get the full AI package.

I like the big boy screens.
