A viral video has captured four individuals on a motorcycle in Nakhon Sawan province, sparking safety and decency concerns. The footage shows one woman sitting in a suggestive posture on the male rider’s lap while facing him. Shared widely on social media, the video quickly garnered attention and criticism.

The incident occurred on Phahon Yothin Road in Nakhon Sawan's Mueang district on September 8. A Thai woman recorded the scene and posted it on her TikTok account, expressing her alarm at the hazardous behavior. The clip, however, was later removed, possibly at the request of those involved, but not before it was reshared across various media outlets.

Following the video's spread, the motorcyclist involved provided an explanation. According to him, the group initially traveled on two motorcycles until they encountered a rival group, prompting them to flee quickly. When the woman’s motorcycle broke down, all four had to fit onto one vehicle, leading to the unusual seating arrangement.

In his statement, the rider mentioned the woman’s discomfort upon seeing the viral footage and apologized for their risky actions. He assured the public that safety lapses would not happen again, stressing that they did not intend to act inappropriately.

Key Takeaways

  • A video showing four people on a motorcycle in Nakhon Sawan went viral.
  • The rider explained the arrangement was due to a breakdown and unexpected circumstances.
  • An apology was issued for the dangerous and improper actions caught on camera.

She looks comfortable. Boys are out for a bit.

I was visiting the girlfriends family, Christmas time Nakhon Sawan, I saw lots of similar riding configurations.

Most Thais have exceptional skills on two wheels and manage to live to old age despite the dangerous roads here.

Right, so visiting family at Xmas time is a big thing in Nakon Sawan?

Most Thais I know would not even know what day it is.

At least she had her shorts on

Schools out..... off they go 3 or 4 on a bike.... police nowhere to be seen..... oops ! sorry ! .. I've just seen the the cops leaving the gold shop after having their photos taken before they go home.

I see four Thais on one motobike all the time, but they are probably a family and a couple of them are kids.

Have they never seen a family of 5 or 6 on one motorcycle? Common place here in the countryside.

4 Idi@ts on a Motobike....................who cares:clap2:

I'm guessing you missed that an average of 17,000 die on motorbikes yearly, along with the higher total of accidents. Locals drive for the most part recklessly, not using their mirrors, cut vehicles off, make illegal and u-turns without looking first, speed, drive drunk, no helmets and up to 5 on a motorbike all the time. That any live to be a ripe old age is attributed to luck, much country driving around few vehicles on average,  and being in the right place at the right time, although there are motorbike drivers I and everyone sees that obey the laws and drive defensively, being the minority of course.

"Christmas Time" still exists regardless of who celebrates it or not. So it's a very good reference point for explaining when the poster was making his visit.

It really doesn't matter if the people who visited knew it was Christmas or not.

Or are we doing the PC thing here and demanding people refer to that period as "the end of December"

I'm thinking all Thais know about Christmas but many might not remember the exact date. Anyone going into a chain supermarket hears Christmas music from November through January.

And the other 74 million have no issues.

A bit rich you complaining after all the accidents you have had.

There aren't 74 million drivers in Thailand. Much of the population are children who don't drive, even though some stupid parents allow some as young as 8, which is showing no care whatsoever, and many children die here daily on scooters because of this.

More are elderly who don't drive anymore either, and many drive cars.

Many drive in the country, with few drivers besides others on scooters, so even if they're terrible drivers, they are a lot less likely to get into accidents than those in urban areas, where most accidents happen.

I'm thinking what is truth here you dismiss because you like the country for the girls and what happens here daily blows past you like the wind. The stats have been there long before you moved here, and will continue indefinitely because of the lack of enforcement and driver training there is here, along with the attitude, which is why most get killed every day.

How many accidents have I had? "All" makes it sound like there have been a lot. I only mentioned 2 here, both being the fault of a local driver, so yes, I can surely complain as I've been driving over 50 years, and know full well what makes a good or bad driver, and it's what I've seen here for over 7 years on Thai roads. And you brag about driving drunk, a lot, which shows you aren't a good driver, nor care about others on the road, so your opinion falls by the wayside.

Woman to driver:  "I've never been this way before"

Regardless, none beforehand wore a helmet, otherwise when fleeing wear their helmets.

A law was passed requiring all motorcycle riders and passengers in Thailand to wear helmets, effective June 1, 2025.

Is it illegal or harmful to post a video of laws being broken?

Do not disturb the macaques. Through play they develop their muscles and ability to jump on vines between trees.
