You must be English with bad teeth? What a negative attitude. 70 is only 5 years away. I can jog three kilometers at one go. You act like it's death's door.

Another thing is if you don't replace many teeth the rest will shift and you'll lose even more

A root canal.in AUD Australia is around $2500-3000

Thailand $500-800

Root canal is bull<deleted>. They can and often do go bad. One of my implants was replacing a bad root canal. The crown had cracked and reinfected the root.

Not only that but any decent root canal is well over $800 especially aud. It's like 60k thb now I bet with scope. But they always go bad because they get brittle and break or the crown breaks or something but it always needs replacing anyway. They're problematic and old technology. You're just a geezer obviously

If you have an extraction and Don't need any bone grafting, go for the Korean implant this will probably only run you about 45k all in.

When you left your root canal for 5 years how did you stop infection in that time ?

Your teeth must of being very sore

Certainly not English, I could be Aboriginal 😮

Do you not like English people?

I had taken amoxicillin. The infection disappated. I left the tooth in which was probably stupid of me As I continue to look for dentist to do the implant. Between looking and living life years past. I don't recommend doing that .

Enough with these types comments and questions. Let's keep the threat on track for people that need implants

Currently, he's in PY Monday and Wednesday.

Highly recommend, oral surgeon level dentist. Clinic is clean and modern inside.

Extractions to crown fitting. Totally competent work. As I said I'm unfortunately on #4.

He's in no hurry to seat the abutment and let the gum recover from extraction or bone graft

OH! I needed two bone grafts. One 30k as I let a bad riot canal sit five years ...my bad. Another only 5k and another no need. This latest he says probably no need as well. Seems totally legit.

Admin staff lovely but not much English, receipts clear and in English. Doctors English is good. He's young and good technique..knows what he's doing surely

This is the guy. Forget about all those scammy Sukhumvit dentists for farang... really

Finally, I've been to many big clinics here and they are overly expensive, potentially overcharge farang and work mediocre.

In closing, I can't really comment on the long outlook of my implants thus far as the first has only been in a little over a year, but very happy with my experience thus far.

Edit: I don't know the brand it's probably the lower end Korean brand but did see a special for upper lower full replacement choppers I think 300k.

The cost of implants add up quickly. You might consider the above procedure. If you do be careful about picking the color and don't go too white. You have bad and/or yellow teeth you might be excited having beautiful choppers but don't do it ..go more natural imo

I could use front veneers (fine cracks) but I'm very hesitant. to go down this road there there's no turning back and they will probably need replacement every 7 years. Let sleeping dogs lie

So, if Im going to call the clinic, then I ask for

any hotel nearby you would recommend?

IF this is the same dentist and situation...

Years ago I contacted this dentist. Theres a foreigner that does the admin work online. As I recall and I'm only recalling... Trip was not worth it from Bangkok, scheduling and convenient and the price is weren't all that different.

I found it kind of sketchy and didn't pursue. I'm sure that dentist is totally legit I just didn't like the logistics of it all and as I recall the price wasn't compelling. Feel free to do your own research

EDIT: on second thought read prior post I'm not sure at all this is the same place but possible. I'm not trying to push you or persuade you to go anywhere

The hospital dental department has many dentists, I have seen at least 3 different ones, they were all female but have seen male ones knocking about.

No, that is the direct line. I would get their Line if the 09# in the image isn't it. Their written English will be far better and you'll have a record of the discussion. I just communicate with Line. It often takes a few hours to get back to me. At times a bit annoying but my guess is there's probably only one person that can write English there.

That area is bustling. Central is full of beautiful women. Kasetsart university (& Horwang school) close by. Another small mall plus Union mall. Lots of food options BUT I'm unaware of any hotels around in that immediate area

Sutthisan is ten minutes away and a few there. Aspira maybe 1250b and is literally steps from the MRT. I know a cheaper place but don't want to post it here.

Huai Kwang next stop south has loads of hotels many small and inexpensive also Swissotel.

Asoke city center is about 15 minutes by MRT from both of the above

If you are coming in from Issarn ?? it's morchit to Chatuchak or Kampeng Phet MRT (40b moto) and south a few minutes.

Probably not the same. Apologies.

The one I was thinking about was posted on TV many years ago. A foreigner was handling the email for the particular dentist

Another note on this place. The cleaning is dirt cheap b1000 but I and an aquaintence found it lacking.  I complained later and my dentist gave me a good cleaning free. He might have used airflow. It seemed so but I've never specifically asked for it so I've no idea exactly how it feels or what it does. When I go back in February for cleaning I'll use him but I do expect that might be paying more. The point of me posting this is the place is fine for cleaning, but I would still stick with this dentist.

Most small clinics charge absolute minimum b1,200 now in Bangkok so I'm not surprised. It was too fast and superficial. It might have also been the dentist technique. Perhaps she was very new. No idea

I went to a dentist in Pattaya several years ago that had good reviews here.  The guy was terrible.  His clinic has since gone out of business so that should tell you all you need to know.  Sadly, I can't even mention his name or where he got his credentials because it would probably get this post deleted.  Last I heard he's working at the dental clinic in a certain hospital in Pattaya now, but I can't even mention which one.

Went to another guy who lots of people recommend here.  Again can't mention his name but some of you can probably guess who I am talking about.  The guy on a certain road that starts with K.  He's very busy and hard to get an appointment.  When I went for a cleaning I was not impressed.  It was really rushed.  A friend of mine just went about a week ago to a scheduled appointment, waited for an hour, and the dentist didn't even show up.  So he had to reschedule.  So now he's looking around for someone else because he knows he can't rely on that guy if he ever has an emergency.

Just mention some names. dont be so paranoid. Its an anonymous forum! haha

Like I said in a previous post, I can't because they will delete the post due to Thailand defamation laws. That was my whole point.

I can suggest 101 Smile, 3077 Sukhumvit Rd, steps away from Punnawithi BTS station. Very professional.

To recommend a dentist, I would need to know where you live.

I live near the town of Phetchabun. I go to a dentist named "Bo." She speaks good English and works at both a private clinic and Phetharat Hospital. She speaks very good English. About two years ago, she made both an upper and lower partial dentures, and I"ve worn them ever since with absolutely no problems.

According to my dentist in the UK, Thailand dentists use inferior materials So I'll take his advice

Mahidol University Dental Clinic

after initial assessment, you will receive all the specialists you need (over 5 floors in the building), implants, root canals, maxillo surgery, gums, bone grafts, crowns - all done by Professors and Assoc. Professors. The doctors all speak excellent English, the staff not so much - but they usually get somebody who can translate.

Dental work and other medical necessities are nothing you want done without complete confidence in the providers.  I use the dental clinic at BNH (Bangkok Nursing Home) on Convent Road in Bangkok.  In fact, I have been an inpatient twice at BNH for other issues.  I can't compare costs but have always had outstanding service and care there.  I am 85 years old and live in Ban Chang but the drive to BNH and the medical staff there to me is worth it for the outstanding results I have had.  Excellent English also.

Chulalongkorn dental hospital also has a lot professors, but not cheap.

Any idea what a all on 4/6 (implants) would cost at Mahidol?

There is no general answer:

Molar or incisor? Material? Bonegraft necessary, or not?

Consult with the specialist for treatment plan, current pricing and options, then decide.

I like Mahidol for the amount of options available

Good luck with your dental work!

I used Dr. Tapasit and he is excellent. He is the first dentist that Never hurt me at any time. I had three teeth replaced maybe 9 years ago and never an issue. I have referred several people to him, and they are ALL very satisfied.
