Driver fatigue after a day-long drive, or maybe those racing home or to the pub or restaurant after work? Twilight also impairs your vision where the eyes are slow to adjust between the brighter sky and a darker, more shadowy eye level. Conversely, the lightening of the sky pre-dawn allows the human eyes much better and quicker resolution of shade and shadows.Another reason why it's better to drive from 22:00 to 07:00.

Last year son asked 'where's xxxx, his second daughter. esponse 'aunty has already left and took xxxx, no discussion whatever with the girls mother or my son. Son called his sister in law and told her to turn around and bring his daughter back to Tak. Son put his phone on video call and showed that his wife was making a call, son said to his sister in law 'she's calling the police'. Twenty minutes later son's daughter (13 years old, in tears) was returned to Tak, and instantly hugged her mother saying 'aunty is a crazy dangerous driver, I told her I have to travel with mummy and daddy but she refused to listen'. Aunty has in fact done similar things before. On arrival back in Tak the rest of the family abused my sone and his wife for being rude to an older sister. Pure Thai culture at work.

He is right that driving in Europe is safe during the holidays :) Not even remotely true in Thailand and Thai statistics paint a dire picture.

What does it say about the type of person that needs to insult a culture just to feel good?

On long drives he stops every 2 hrs at a servie centre or whatever, preferably with good food and coffee. Son and his wife and 4 kids eat and relax 30 minutes, son ensures he walkes around and exercises his body. Then another 2 hrs drive. Son's wife also very safety minded, she watches her husband for any sign of nodding off etc., and they stop quickly for a further 'get out of the car and relax session'.They have no hesitation to check into a hotel and get a full sleep. Both my son and his wife are so safety conscious because of past accidents involving son's in laws who all have a driving policy of 'drive as fast as you can, no stops whatever (except for gasoline) and therefore get to destination as fast as possible. In 5 yrs 2 deaths incl. one small child, and numerous serious injuries to limbs etc. They never learn.

I need to get to Mike's Shopping Mall so your by-pass took me too far. I experimented & found using Klang quicker to Beach Rd. than Tai & the infernal lights at 3rd. Thank you. I am exploring venues (for Table tennis) outside the centre (during High season). The Ambassador takes me 22 minutes but they lie & tell you there's no problem with the A/C - until you get there and there is!
January 4Jan 4 Author 910 km took around 13.5 hrs. Man oh man, what a trip.Saw at least 5 dead dogs on the roadside, odd.

No I'm a conservative that supports Trump for the most part. Who are you? Do you think Thais are not capable and should be insulted because of their stupidity? All counties and people do things that you might not like but describing the culture as inept seems petty and not too intelligent. Not saying you feel this way about Thailand - I have no clue :)

I may disagree with you but that is the extent of it and even then I realize I might be wrong. What I find difficult to comprehend is how one can get so wrapped up in politics that they can't grasp any perspective but their own. I've been called woke today on this forum and you probably want to label me as a maga.

Rural people especially, out for one of the biannual tris to visit family. Figures do not lie.
