Driving Licence Renewal using an agent

Featured Replies

Is there an agent in Pattaya who specializes in Driving License renewal who could help me? I want to renew my 5-year licences. I don't have a car, and I don't want to ride my motorbike anymore, but I want to renew my licenses just in case.

As always I look forward to your replies

Thank you

As mentioned in another thread, I used One Stop Visa on Soi 6 to do my conversion from UK licence (Car Only) and there were several guys there renewing licenses, a mixture of conversions, renew car, renew bike, renew both so I'm sure they can help you https://www.onestopservicepattaya.com/

Mark (the owner) explained to me when I was 1st enquiring about it that Rayong was very busy at the moment so they layed on a minibus to Bangkok (Bang Chak).

Only tests we needed to do were the Colour & Reaction time (No Practical/Theory) so if you haven't ridden your bike for sometime you'll be fine.

I was doing a conversion so my costs will be very different than yours, might be an idea to contact them for a quote, they responded well to emails/calls & overall I was very pleased with the service.

Rules have changed , you'll need to watch a video and take a test , so I doubt an agent will be able to help much

how much did they have you over for?

Mine was a tricky situation as I have the "Green" UK License (haven't lived in the UK for 19 years) which cannot be straight converted to a Thai license, so I ended up paying 21K.

TBH I wanted the Driving license more for the ID after recent problems with BBL wanting more Thai Address ID so although it's a lot of money it was worth it to me for the the peace of mind of being covered the next time that I want to move money from one of my BBL accounts to the other BBL account.

I used Tiktok a couple of months ago for a UK to Thai conversion just after a mate had used them for a Thai licence renewal. He went to Rayong and I went to Chonburi but both pleased enough with the service.

No video and no written test for me. Colour blind, reaction and depth perception tests only.

yellow book might be easier or for now I think C.O.Rs are accepted, i have not yet had to show anything other than a passport when dealing with BBL and transferring money between accounts can be done ay the ATM although there may be daily limits I'm sure a passport would be enough to transfer between accounts which are both in your name .

Opening a new account however is a different matter and you are right to gather whatever documents you can. Who knows what the future might bring

I heard that some DLT offices were slower in implementing the changes, you were fortunate, how long ago was this?

was it the same story for your mate too?

Wanted to move money from my Fixed Deposit account to my normal savings account so have to do this at the counter (I can move money the other way via the mobile app).

They wanted additional proof of address, wouldn't accept CoRs, TM30s or statements from my other Bank, but wanted my UK driving licence (which they then rejected) or the Condo Chanote, but my lease was with my Landlady and the Chanote is in her (British) Husband's name so they rejected that as well.

I ended up having to get a new lease with him, a copy of his Passport/Chanote and they accepted this.

I used Mots, all OK. Tik Tok seemed prevalent at the licence place and had the cuter girls.

I really don't see why anyone would need an agent for a renewal. I did mine last year. Did the online video, went to the office, got my blood pressure checked, did the color test, I had trouble with the spatial test (old eyes, took me 5 tries), and photographed. Out is less than an hr.

My renewal Ratchaburi.

C.O.R from Immi.
Doctors note from hospital (no clinics ) B.P. couple of questions.
Brake test
Colour Blind test
Peripheral vision
Depth perception test.
Then an hour watching a video.
Finally photo taken and money paid.

Have they stopped doing the video online? When I did mine, after you watched it you got a barcode that you brought with you for the renewal.

To be honest , I didn't know that was an option at the time.

Where? Using an Agent in offices that currently have a 3-month waiting list.

Hand holding and queue jumping.

Maybe an advantage of not living in a large city. It was near Phimai

I renewed my licenses last year in under 30 minutes. Dr. certificate, reaction, depth perception and color tests. Take two pictures and wait a few minutes. Less than 1000 baht, no agent needed, no appointment needed.

Does anyone have a link to the training film? I have never seen it.

21K ? Damn

I paid 6K for a new Thai DL, car and bike a month ago

As I mentioned in a later post, I was converting a UK "Green" (None Photo) Driving Licence which (technically) you cannot convert so I was paying for the convenience of not having to start from scratch.

I've renewed my dl both ways. With and agent and without. The agent was a waste of money.I googled the requirements and watched the film etc. I brought my Mrs along and and it all went very smoothly . Its not like the old days anymore and much more user friendly. The agent did nothing other then hand over the documents. If you have a Thai to help you it's easy. Just did mine 3 months ago.

No point at all...

And what of these advertised offers of a drivers licence online for 2500 baht...just send a copy of your passport front page ?

"Completely legal " !

Confirms my suspicion. I asked because recently received several on Facebook all seemingly from independent "agents".

Also identity theft, all of your ID and a bank transaction included.
