Online 90 day reporting available from April 1st

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine got is visit from Immigration yesterday, due to being "under consideration" for an extension based on retirement. Upon departing the immigration officers reminded him of the need to register at the police station.

Once registered at the police station this morning, the boss of the police department that deals with expats living in the province told him "new orders" that he must go again everytime prior to 90 day reporting at immigration. This is not the first time he has made an extension too. He has been resident for a few years.

This is very unlikely to be a computer related problem.

The system only works with Internet Explorer

Problems may occur if your last entry to Thailand was some time ago or if you have got a new passport since your last entry.

Not sure I would go by what the policeman said.

Perhaps doing the report to the police but not having to have it for a 90 day report.

It doesn't matter what I do , I cannot type with any fluency into the required fields , I have used various browsers IE , Chrome , Safari etc , ( I am running IOS on an Imac )

The problem starts when I begin typing , the tab I have opened in the tab bar keeps flickering , and it will not let me type till it stops flickering , could be up to 30 seconds a letter .

I have used the same computer , with the same user agent switcher before and there was no problem. Just don't know what's happening.

I came across this flickering last time I tried to report online, and failed to get past the first page, yet I had successfully reported previously, using same computer and software.

Very Strange.

Impossible to say for sure but what is described sounds as though IE is not being used .

If a browser other than IE is used without an IE emulator then the behaviour described will occur.

If you are not fully computer literate it may help if assistance is sought from someone who has made a successful online report.

If you read the Two posts prior to my comment " very strange " you will see that we have both successfully completed the online report , using the same browsers and software as before.

Latest reporting site address. https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn90online

If people made reports before they changed the site to https they can have browser problems now. Before the change it was possible to do it on Chrome and Firefox without an extension for IE installed but it is almost impossible to completed the info for step one without an extension installed. On Chrome the need to use IE message kept coming up for me after the change making it impossible to complete the form.

I filled out the online form 2 days ago, and printed the "PENDING" page. I checked today, my information comes up and under "status" it says "not approved". Does this mean just that, not approved and I need to do my 90 day check in live, or is it "not approved yet" and I just need to wait longer.

BTW, I submitted the form 7 days prior to my 90 day report day.

'Not Approved' means you need to go in person. Your application for online reporting was rejected probably because you were a day late in doing it.

It should be submitted within 15 - 7 days before the due date.

Don't include the due date when you count back and don't include the 15th day either.

See below example from the Immigration website.

I've just reported online for the first time this morning - remarkably quick and easy, as the approval came back from Rayong office in two hours or less.

I have a slight conundrum about the next reporting date, which is 21st December, thus 90 days from today. Is that the date for online reporting, or should it be submitted 15 - 7 days before then? - effectively making it ~80 day reporting? I assume it to be the latter.

My actual date for reporting this time was 7th October, 90 days from my re-entry to Thailand on 10th July

Sorry maybe i have confused myself. See the immigration example immediately above this post. Using that immigration example the count of 7 days starts from the date due to report (and that date is included in the count) that is 27 to 21 ie 7 days.

Can report on any of the previous 8 days 20-13.

Or have I missed something?

You assume correctly.

You should make your next application between 7th-14th Dec inclusive.

The next report due date is electronically set by the date of the online approval.

Some members have applied a day to soon, or a day to late because they haven't fully understood the period of the window opening.

Applicants can submit this online application within 15 days and not less than 7 days before the due date of notification.

Take due date of 27th as an example: Do not count the due date as count 1.

The first day before the due date is therefore the 26th and count 1.

Counting back, the 7th and last day you could make the application would be 20th.

Similarly, counting back, if 26th is count 1, then13th would be count 14, being the first day of the open window to apply, which is within 15 days of the due date.

You would have an 8 day window to apply from 13th-20th inclusive.

12th wouldn't be within 15 days of the due date. (to early).

21st wouldn't be before 7 days of the due date. (to late).

I believe the member 'shot' made the error of counting his report date as day 1 and he subsequently made his application a day to late and it was therefore refused approval. An easy mistake to make, but a simple lesson learned.

I'll make an educated guess his report date was 27th and he applied on 21st. That would be 6 days before his report date and not within the window.

Faz with respect you are making it far too confusing and it seems Zodiac has it correct. It is as plain as can be that when counting back the due date is included and your contention otherwise is patently wrong. Confirmed by the example given in the immigration web site.

Apologies if my last post was confusing.

'Not less than 7 days before the due date of notification'.

If your interpretation is correct, then counting the due date as count 1, then the 7th and last day to apply would be 21st.

That day however is not 'checked' as a day within the window on the example.

I'll stick with 7 days before the due date of notification, being the last day to make an application.(20th)

I believe some of the reasons many members can't do an online report is down to user error.

Not being within the window.

Not using IE

Not fully reading the instructions beforehand.

Not entering upper case on the first page.

Not using the drop down boxes.

I realise some use other browsers with add ons to simulate IE, but that could create issues with your own security settings on your PC and an uncertified site, causing many of the problems listed.

I just had mine approved today. I filled in details this morning just after 9, and i was approved by 13.00.

I was supposed to report my address by October 6th and did it today (23rd September) The slip I have printed says report again by the 23rd of December. That's exactly 3 months from today but 79 days from October 6th - Is that normal?

I am not sure if all reporting locations are working that way but mine was exactly the same as yours, I use Bangkok Division1 at Chaeng Watthana.
