yeah with todays disciplined approach  'box to box' days are well gone  but he does nice little  runs and then he distributes well its the other parts i said that will 'cement' his place  for eg atm dier offers more ggoal threat than winks, and that CANT b right

Its not right I agree.....with two yound def mids though one can get forward at times for sure if they both have pace....remains to be seen if that will be Winks or Skippy or a mix of both ideally!

So Jordan Henderson has only just returned for Liverpool, why the <deleted> is he even anywhere near this England squad? Well now, he's not anywhere near it because he has been <deleted> injured while on England duty. Every <deleted> International break our players get injured.

Southgate hasn't yet worked out how to keep the clubs happy.

Winks and Alli on the bench raised a big grin from me however.

Poor finishing in the first half.....not bad not bad but I expect Croatia to up their tempo second half and bury you 2-0.

Lack of creativity when needing it, set pieces were rubbish for the most part.

Lingard and Sancho added that spark when they came on though.

To be fair Croatia WC finalists, and a decent side, so well done England.

England held possession well but as you say they need that something extra....perhaps Sancho, Trips or Alli will provide it eventually.

Lingard just no really.

I still don't understand the playoff rules....is it lower sides play each other or just a free for all next year?

All I know is that's it for International football until March, which is nice.

ronnie ,, google it   wiki reckons

According to the approved format (prior to Kosovo becoming a UEFA member),[1][7][8] the now 55 UEFA national teams (including Kosovo) are divided into four divisions (called "Leagues"):[9][10] 12 teams in League A, 12 teams in League B, 15 teams in League C, and 16 teams in League D. In each league, four groups are formed (three or four teams in each group) and teams play each other both home and away.

In the top league, League A, the winners of the four groups go on to play in the Nations League Finals, with two semi finals, one third and fourth place decider, and one final to decide which team becomes the UEFA Nations League champion.

Teams can also be promoted and relegated to a higher or lower league. Each group winner (there are four groups in each league) except for League A, who will go on to play in the Nations League Finals, is automatically promoted to the next higher league for the next tournament. Each team placing last in its group, except for League D is automatically relegated to the next lower league.

Firstly. Scotland will play the normal Euro qualifiers (groups to be drawn on 2nd December), Matches start in March 2019. If they qualify through this method there is no need for them to be in the play-offs.

If they fail to qualify via the normal route, but have finished top of the Nations Group by beating Israel, then they get a second chance to qualify thru' the play-offs, the draw for those being made in November 2019. The sixteen winners of the Nations groups will take part....if they have not already qualified trough the normal qualifying comp, in which case they are replaced by the group runners up. Four places are available. One to each group A,B,C,D of the Nations League.

If Israel come top of the group then Scotland don't get the second chance, unless Israel themselves qualify as above, in which case Scotland, if they finish Nations Group runners up, will have the second chance in the play offs.

Scotland will play Finland or Serbia (probably) or Bulgaria/Norway in the play off semi-finals. Then the two winners meet to decide who gets the 1 place awarded to the winners from Group C in the Nations League. Games will be played in March 2020.

Bloody convoluted stuff!

Seems just like the tennis ATP finals to me. It'll all sort itself out next year.

BUT!!! Will it ever rival the World cup and Euros in importance? Can't see it myself. Maybe others think so.

Totally agree with all of that, except the more I watch Walker play he doesn’t appear that good. Gave the ball away a few times last night.

Looks like England have a squad and manager to be reckoned with. That doesn't mean its COMING HOME, but a decent squad.

Get off the fence Jellybean....are they going to win it or not?

Oh and what is the prize for winning it anyway?

Dem Span yards must be suffering back home. Dumped out by England!!!

Porto and Guimaeres are the venues. I stayed in Porto when Bolton played Guimaeres a few years back. 2 great places: Porto with the Port warehouses on the river (Sandeman, Cockburn, etc) and the old part of Guimaeres is a World Heritage site.

Up the whites!

It does appear that was a great deal for Spurs and yeah that's the same Walker I've been observing while watching City and England of late.

i was boring the <deleted> out of everyone for the best part of a season about walker; every match he was terrifying defenses with these amazing runs , but then TOTALLY failing to deliver a decent ball, it was un frigging believable, his positioning was AWFUL and his distribution not much better,
