Not sure if this has been mentioned previously as the thread has gotten quite long, but I notice there's no header section that allows a direct return to the general forum contents page. This was very useful before, and at present I need to backtrack slowly through several subforums to reach the general contents menu. Hopefully this is in the pipeline and will be reinstated.

Use bottom right up arrow to get to top of any page and click on 'forum home' at top left which is to the main forum index page.

Overall the upgrade is looking good. I'm using Chrome/Android/Galaxy S7 and I get the following error:

On one of the sub forum titles (farming in thailand forum) the text spills over the right hand side border, making the forum home page quite strange.

Pic attached.

Just checked again.... mine is now behaving exactly as @RichCor says - IE correctly rendering the 'Bell' notifications popup read status but "View all notifications" page view, only showing bold, regardless of the read status.

@Tech Doctor Is something updating overnight to cause these changes in behaviour?

@Tech Doctor The notifications are still misbehaving as quoted, but I now see that there are no post numbers displayed. I just says "Report Post" and won't let me capture it using the Snipping Tool. Haven't noticed this issue before.

Posting numbers are gone again.

I didn't realise they had made a return? I must have blinked and missed them.

I find them helpful.

What I'm getting if I'm inside one of the subforums is a tab for the subforum I'm currently in and above it is a duplicate of the same tab. So to exit this thread for instance requires me to back out through about three stages before the "forum home" option appears.

In the older version of the site, there was a Thaivisa logo in the header, and when you clicked on that it would return you directly from anywhere in the site to the forum home page, but at present it seems it's not working properly. This is on my phone which runs Android 4.4.4 kitkat.

I have noticed  that it is missing on the mobile browser also. Have you considered using the the ThaiVisa Connect App

I  have reported the problem now.

Here is a work around until the Logo is back.

Touch the three horizontal lines top side of the page where the red 1 is showing on this screen shot.

You will get this drop down menu. Then touch forums.

Then torch forums here that will take you  back to the main page.

I am using Galaxy S7/Android/Chrome. The grey coloured button underneath the forum logo at the top left if the page is in a strange position. Specifically the button is too far down the page. (It has been this way since the latest upgrade).

I've have only now just realised that when I'm browsing using my Android device the posting numbers are there.

For me anyway, when viewing on a PC using Linux & Firefox, the numbers are still missing.

I wonder if everyone else is experiencing the same?

The are not showing on any PC or browser at this time. The tech people are awaiting a plugin to get them back.

I can see them on the ThaiVisa connect app on android but not the Chrome mobile browser.

Right. Thanks for the info explaining the details. We'll just have to wait patiently then.

I have noticed random white space on the forum home page above or below various forum listings.

Examples shown in attached photo.

I thought that, but there is little consistency. Some spaces above the text, some below, etc...

I don't see that much space using the Chrome mobile browser on Android.

On a browser it can vary do to screen size and other factors.

Bloody ads (games)when first opening the app..... I'm thinking of dumping it.... seriously

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect

I only see one ad when I open the Android app, I just cancel it.

But surely you have to accept there are costs involved running a forum - especially as large as TV? I'm sure it isn't hosted for free, nor is the software running it.  However, I would have no idea about what's involved for tech support, the mods, etc.

What's going on? Bug or inexplicable feature?

Attachment appears to be attached to post, but doesn't appear.  Another bug?  I do hope you're not paying for the steaming pile of ordure that is the webboard upgrade.

The difference is the first and last one is a shared post and the one in the middle is a shared topic. Not sure why the one is underlined.

Which attachment I can see all of them.

There have been several function that have been temporarily disabled.

Discussed here in the topic about the forum being slow.

Linking to http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/discover/content-posted/ previously brought up a list of topics I've contributed to.  Today it brings up a message:

"OOOPS... THE PAGE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS NOT FOUND
LET'S GO FOR A TUK TUK RIDE AND LOOK FOR IT "

Perhaps that's the site's 404 page?

Anyway, is this a temporary problem? And if not, what's the equivalent new link?

Thanks.

And seemingly no announcement beforehand of the change.

Why would an announcement be needed. It is a function of the forum software that generates the links.

It apparently was changed as a result of maintenance done last night as announced here.

Thai Visa Downtime from 10pm-4am   10/15/2017

Thai Visa will be down for database maintenance from 10pm - 4am.
