What is the best way to cover ugly plain white small flat floor?

I moved into a new flat in Thailand and I hate the flooring very much. It's a plain white tile. Anyway to cover/replace the floor without removing them?

Linoleum or Lino still widely used in Thailand...they call it
"suer narmun"

If you lay that over tiles with pressed edges, you will se the grout lines under the tiles in no time. Thailand use a lot of rectified edge tiles that don't have a grout line or 1mm +- and are less chance of showing the edge lines if the tiles were initially laid well.

If you have grout lines and want to avoid the lino recessing into it over tile, you could use an 11mm ply substrate over the tiles then lino. But then you need to worry about door clearances.

I'd use a rug. Ikea have plenty of them if you want a western style contemporary rug.

I laid some on tiles 6 years ago ( lino is more than 14 years old)  yes you can see the grout lines, doesn't bother me but some would be bothered by it.

Rugs and carpet get very dusty......

IKEA  only useful if you live  near Mega BangNa  in Bangkok

as you have to physically go there to pay !!!

Brother, if it does the job you want it to do, it is all good. Some people don't like tiles for the drummy acoustics, keeping them clean and them being too damn slippery. If rugs aren't someone's thing, lino could be an easy way to go.

Probably not; I rent it.

Then you cant (shouldnt) do anything that is going to be a problem to remove without Landlord approval.

As a tenant I would suggest as other have, some rugs a 10ft x 6ft would make a good centrepiece and is easily rolled and removed. Carpet tiles possibly. Laminate flooring would require more work its expensive and not easily removed to reinstate. Lino or similar may damage the tiles when removed later.

Best of luck.

IKEA has a good selection of sisal rugs in different sizes, textures, and colors.  Sisal is a natural product, wears very well, goes with all furniture, and it's a very upscale look without the upscale price.  You'll find sisal rugs in million dollar homes and small condos--looking terrific in both.
