Openly showing what this government thinks of us.

  • So much wrong with what just came out of this little man's mouth. That was extremely racist and xenophobic. Very ugly to see a person of his stature in the government talking like this.    I

  • So can we file defamation charges against him now or does it only work the other way around? ????‍♂️

He's showing symptoms of another serious disease called "foot in mouth disease" and should be taken off to quarantine.

Only a matter of time , you have been warned .

     He maybe a mate of yours , { ex mate ] ...

Not so long ago, majority of posters were criticising WHO as being dishonest and doing China’s bidding. All of a sudden, everyone is holding up WHO as saying nothing but the whole truth lol.

Yeah that's amazing hey? Last week they were fiddling the figures and had been bought by China. This week they say only wear a mask if you have a cough or respiratory problems and the sound of masks hitting the bin deafens half of Thailand. Good old WHO, they're the boys for us!!!

But when the WHO says don't stop international travel because it doesn't help reduce the spread of viruses.......

More faces than a dice convention.

Maybe because we have bigger brains than to believe that a surgical mask will protect the wearer, when it´s designed to protect to surrounding from the wearer.

What did this government minister do prior to entering politics? I doubt it was part of the diplomatic corps.

Does he have any qualifications in health ?

None apparently, just a man with loads of cash.

There are a lot of smart comments on here from people that think they are important? You should be thankful that he gave you an insight on how they really feel about you.
You'll see just how important you really are not so far in the future.
Be prepared because your time is coming.

Everybody must know that Thai People are more smart than the rest of the world. Even if you might have the idea, that that paper mask do not filter out really any virus.

Your idea is wrong, totally wrong because the expert Khun Anutin Charnvirakul knows better than all other.

The only problem is that up to know only Asian People, who wear all the mask, got the infection and most of them are as expected Chinese and some a Thai.

Dear Khun Anutin, please provide hand sanitizer at the Immigration Fingerprint scanner and help to reduce the long queue at the Immi counters which is the highest risk for me to get an infection here in Thailand. Once I stay in my house, I will be no risk for anyone in Thailand as Farang, but I also wan't get infected from the most preferred tourist in Thailand.

so will people be wearing masks inside restaurants?  Girls working inside the bars, discos or gogos?  Is every person, Thais included now wearing masks?

In the subs of BKK almost nobody wears a mask, not in malls, restaurants, buses, trains, markets...nowhere. Maybe 10% wears one.

So at least we can be certain that for the coming years we will always see these officials wearing their face masks..

Right, so 5hit on the tourists who actually built their industry...

This is correct. VERY many Farangs do not use a mask. Are they too stupid or immortal? And as hard as it might sound - such ignorant and naive tourists pose a danger to others in Thailand.

How many Farang are infected in Thailand up to today? And how many preferred tourist from China and how many the rest. Oh - only Thai and Chinese, hmm

Look at the facts. Most Farangs here do not use a mask. Don't ask me why. But if you know it please let me know the reason.

Could you please stop? You make no sense, are you trolling? For your information most Thais do not wear a mask either! Just go out and look. And it is agreed among scientific community that masks do not protect you from getting a virus. However, from spreading yes, but not from getting. I hope you understand and stop posting silly stuff. Your comments are really annoying. I hope I didn't lose my time replying to you. That's the first and last time I do ????

The thing that I have thought about the most following this incident is this:

If he is willing to speak like this in public, and in front of a camera, then what on Earth is he saying behind closed doors with other ministers and what are they saying in response? I always thought that the Thai immigration officials were working to orders and directives coming down from the top, and after seeing his rant against foreigners for something as petty as not accepting a very unsanitary and useless facemask, I am sure that there is an anti-western rhetoric being directed towards banks, amphur offices, immigration and God knows who else. It's what we didn't hear him say which is more concerning.

I can imagine what is being said about ai farang behind closed doors and it doesn't look good for western ex-pats.

After making the acquaitance with the health minister I start to have doubts about the credibility of numbers issued by Thai government about Corona Virus cases. It looks like they are doing a cover up at the moment. It's just my guess.

You're way behind the curve mate.

I saw Chinese tourists over new year removing their masks on arrival at the airport.

I saw whole Chinese tour groups in central Bangkok without masks.

I saw Chinese tourist putting their masks back on for the flight home.

30,000 + cases in China, the source of this and most other outbreaks.

About 20 cases in all Ferangland.

With a virus that generally has mild symptoms, enabling the sufferers to spread it as they are usually not incapacitated - there should be a direct link between inbound arrivals from China and case numbers in a country.

As expected, Thailand took an early lead for 'out of China' cases, then suddenly the numbers stopped increasing in Thailand, but continued to climb in other countries.

Is he still in a job ?

Of course he is. In Thailand when you get caught out they just give you a lowlier job for a bit. Remember, they are all mates and/or family.

What does he care? PM 2.5 levels through the roof, carnage on the highways continue to rise, all kinds of real health and safety threats but can't recall him being so outspoken about any of them. So, If I had to guess it would be that Mr. Charnviakul has a stake in a company that makes the masks, not that he is trying to save Thailand from the throngs of diseased farangs washing up on his beaches and coughing all over the country. In which case, as he demonstrates by example, simply wearing the mask under your chin would be good enough, you would still have to buy a mask from him to do that.

Nah, that can't be it. Currently farang stock of useless masks far outstrip Thailands.

Panic buying see?

Right.

Introduce hand cleaning into the immigration desk process and make it quicker. OOOkkkaayy.

Or maybe bring your own hand cleanser, clean your hands in the queue and after you get stamped in  and stop passing your personal safety to somebody else?

Too much to ask?

Old news already. The fool already apologised

No, he exposed himself and this administration exactly what they think of Westerners.

He can stick his apology.

There are 2 supposed facts I’m having trouble reconciling.
1) very few people are wearing masks

2) masks are sold out everywhere or cost an exorbitant amount of money

Any ideas?
