Naked foreign woman filmed at sacred shrine causes stir in Chiang Mai

Locals are furious with a foreign woman who took off her clothes and climbed stark naked on a balcony at a sacred shrine in Chiang Mai.

 

It was the culmination of quite a Sunday for the woman, according to a rescue foundation contacted by Thai Rath. 

 

It ended with the woman being taken away by rescue workers. 

 

Many passers-by and motorists filmed the woman at the San Jao Phor Pratu gate and the incident was widely viewed and shared on social media.

 

The woman was aged about 20-30. This happened about 9pm. 

 

Earlier in the evening the same woman had tried to jump from the Nakhon Ping bridge into the Ping River but was stopped.

 

Witnesses said she may have been intoxicated. 

 

She then picked up a Thai flag decorating the bridge and wrapped herself in it. 

 

She threw another flag into the river.

 

Then she walked over much of the downtown area raising her middle finger. 

 

After the incident at the shrine a local hospital was called and rescue workers attended the scene. 

 

The locals in the area of the shrine called for apologies to the spirits and a ceremony to assuage bad karma. 

 

There was no report of police involvement in the Thai Rath story, notes Thaivisa.

Quite clearly has mental problems , well done to the Thai authorities for realising that and taking her to a hospital, rather than arrested her 

now that king of worshipping i can definitely relate to... where is that temple again you said?...

Oh come on. I do not believe one minute that locals are irate over this. Maybe a couple who are overboard on spirits who were selling food at the corner open air market. But I would think the men are mad they didn't get a piece of her. Why don't they be more concerned on the green bacteria overtaking the moat. She is lucky she did not dive into that water or she would be creature of the bacterial toxic water! I just road past that area taking my daughter to school today.

She is actually from Bangladesh and was working as a teacher in a private school prior to the pandemic 

Late one evening in Chiang Mai

A lady got a bit high

She went naked to a shrine

The locals started to whine

And Immigration said tine for bye bye.

I imagine that the apology ceremony department is currently busy with assuaging the bad karma of Covid, unemployment and homelessness

As the Thai's tar us all with the same brush, I think we should all hang our uncivilised   farang heads in shame and contribute to the ceremony to assuage the bad karma and appease all those devoted, pristine Thai's of good faith who have their noses out of joint! ???? I'll be contributing "Chicken in a pit".
