Deputy Prime Minister and Palang Pracharat party leader General Prawit Wongsuwan appears to have landed himself in hot water by reportedly handing out 200,000 water bowls (“khan” in Thai) to the party’s MPs for distribution to people in their constituencies during the Songkran festival next week.

Political activist Srisuwan Janya said today that he will file a complaint with the Election Commission seeking aninvestigation into whether gift of the water bowls constitutes a violation of the election law.

Each water bowl bears an inscription which reads “Happy Songkran” and the name of the party and General Prawit.

Bit, but, but, they were for them to use when they ate Mama noodles as a family.  Same bowls for all, no one discriminated against.

No way, really, omg, the shame and FACE the Watchman has lost. Will he be forced to resign or be sent to an inactive post.

Or they could just be used traditionally in the way they were intended and dribble some water on the hands feet and head of your respected family members.

"You hes a silly little man, Khun Prawit, what hes you?"

"A silly little man, Sargent Major"

Post of the day lol

Can't see what the fuss is about.  Local elections have just come and gone leaving plastic posters of candidates to obscure vision at all cross-roads/junctions.  This is just more electioneering to keep him & his party snuffling at the trough.

I suspect most of these Water Bowls will be used in the Bathrooms of the recipients.

I will let you guess what for.

Songkhran tradition?

Thaksin Shinawatra bowls seized by Thai police

Thai police have seized thousands of small bowls carrying a message signed by ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

They also arrested the female politician from his party in whose house they were found.

She has now been charged with sedition, which can carry seven years in prison.

Old news but should be the same for these bowls. I guess they could use them to hold nuts.
