I guess there are not that many places on Sukhumvit itself......you have to go down the right soi for a beer.

Again, anyone that is desperate for a beer before lunch, should consider maintaining an inventory...

At the time you claimed to be looking, i.e. Thursday morning, the bars in that area of Bangkok were (supposed to be) shut down due to Covid regulations so the fact that you did find one shows what a lucky person you are.    Generally, the best time to look for a beer is when bars are open and allowed to sell alcohol.

Not defending the OP but I've been coming here since about 2005 & lived here since 2011 & I've only ever had 2 massages, both proper massages by old women, not my cup of tea tbh. ????

Back on the OP...  Did 7/11 and Family Mart quit selling beers at that time?  Because you can't swing a dead cat on Sukhumvit without hitting a 7/11 or a Family Mart.
